Hi, some updates since releasing the video: - The reason the ABXY were swapped in the GamePass app was due to the fact that I had mapped the M2 button to the top-left corner as my "Xbox" button. When using the key mapper the controls somehow automatically swap the ABXY to the Odin/Nintendo format. Works great after removing that keymap, and so in that sense Xbox remote play AND cloud gaming are excellent on this device. - When using the key mapper for look controls like in COD Mobile, if you change the right analog stick to "Adjust view mode" and reduce the sensitivity to around 20% it works fine.

i was wondering about the triggers on the PS streaming, could this be a problem because of the odin settings option? you left it on "both" maybe if it was "analogue", it would work with at least one of the apps? just a thought, i don't use ps streaming myself.

@@IcoKirov yeah I tested all of the various trigger settings in the Odin settings, unfortunately none of them fix the issue. Some downright break the trigger inputs altogether. I think it just has to do with the apps and how they register that double-click trigger on the PS5 controller.

I've had mine for nearly two weeks now and I think about it all the time. I bought a 512gb SD card and both that and the Odin's hard drive are basically full now. I feel excited whenever I turn it on knowing there's so much I've wanted to play portably for years now and in this way - a great portable system. I'm convinced it has a place and the Steam Deck won't just blow it out of the water, I know I will prefer this device for PS2, Wii/Gamecube and lower because of its design, weight and feel. Ever since I got back into handhelds again which brought me to this channel, this is the best thing I've bought and it'll keep me busy forever.

@@pandabearmadness6263 Honestly I think 512gb is enough unless you want like every game ever on one SD card. For the LEDs, Taki mentioned in his video AYN is considering offering RGB Upgrade Kits for the LEDs. Would be cool if it actually happens. Also for the Back button, I saw in the Odin Subreddit that someone managed to map Back to the Home button. They mapped it so that one press was Back and then two or three tapping was the home. I wish I saved the post, but that seems promising. I wonder if we could get some slightly taller analog sticks or maybe just some caps to allow the analog sticks to be a bit more precise.

The steam deck will cost more, likely be less modable/user friendly unless you know a lot about linux, weighs a ton more, will run hotter, and frankly outside of more modern pc games (by more modern I mean like 5-10 year old games) probably won't out perform the Odin either. I was confused why anyone wanted a steamdeck when they announced it, with things like this I am even more confused what kind of mental gymnastics people need to think the Steamdeck is a good buy.

Good luck swapping the buttons! If it's built anything like a Nintendo or 8bitdo controller, the molding of the buttons are keyed to keep them from rotating in the chassis. This keying is usually unique per button, such that A and B would not be swappable without mutilation (which would then possibly allow them to rotate in place a bit)

Awesome video. This handheld looks amazing despite some minor flaws. I’m currently using my Vita as my handheld at the moment. I hacked it using your amazing instructional videos. The one thing that really bothers me about the Vita is the inability to play N64 games properly. The Odin however looks like it’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a handheld and then some. I would love to see a video showing more N64 games like Zelda OOT and MM, 007, Donkey Kong, Jet Force Gemini, Conkers Bad Fur Day, Turok, Shadowman, Banjo etc. I’m also curious about running the Wii U remasters of Zelda TP and WW. What about original Xbox games like Conkers Live & Reloaded (Bad Fur Day Remaster)? Could you also show off the Odin’s docking station? Though that was a few years ago. If it can actually run well nowadays(?) that makes me very excited. Apparently Saturn lasers are dying and the system is getting expensive. After all the pre-release reviews, I pre-ordered and got one. Since I got it, I’m a bit disappointed. :(. It’s powerful - checked. But I was hoping for a tight firmware with tight UI/UX it access emulators and run ROMs out of the box, like the Aberinic handhelds. Is there any custom O/S I can use to get a more turn-key experience? The Odin is basically an Android table with build in controllers that needs to be setup. It took me about 45 mins to get it up and running and get my first ROM running. (Had to setup my Playstore account, download Android apps (such as an EMU for each console). Even after its all said and done, it’s not quite as good of a UX experience as the Abernic or Retroid. Anyway to get the Odin into an experience closer to Abernic or Retroid ?

I find DS emulation is such a pain on other devices because of the dual screen. I just relented and ran an Everdrive on the original hardware.

I recommend a cheap R4i card running on a New 3DS (or New 2DS) to cover all your dual-screen gaming needs.

AYN Odin is the best Handheld Game Console of Android that can let you play Google Stadia and Xbox Game Pass. And it also lets you play Every Android Games with plenty of them! Wow this is going to be Cool! I haven't use AYN Odin before, but every other handheld could be so powerful like PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S! This is more like AYN Odin is Xbox Series V! I can't believe PlayStation and Xbox are both getting our sides together. Mostly Asphalt 9 Legends and Real Racing 3 works on AYN Odin! This is better than it was before! I've never thought AYN Odin was GPD XP. But now AYN Odin is AYN Odin, the different ways. Now this handheld is the most gaming console in the world that can work on and it's a high end handheld with most powerful performance like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. AYN Odin becomes the part of PlayStation 5 So AYN Odin is PlayStation 5 Handheld Edition, that's great! :D

I have the GPD Win Max 2020 & 2021 edition, GPD Win 3, ONEXPLAYER, Pocket Retro 2+, AYN Odin Pro, and AYANEO Retro Pro. The AYANEO Retro Pro I have has the best construction quality and runs my games smoothly. Having an AMD CPU, it also doesn't crash as much as their Intel counterparts which I assume is due to having superior drivers. In fact, I run it on docking mode sometimes and it can run my 4k monitor no problem if you're just doing light desktop stuff such as browsing websites or watching KZitem videos. You can most likely use it as a PC too this way. Just have some external drives for extra storage. I stopped buying these handhelds for now. Gonna wait for next gen APUs! 😁

Really thought this video was informative. I do have a question. I am running Cemu through Moonlight, as you are, but can’t seem to get it to recognize the Odin Pro as a controller. Can you tell me exactly how you did this?

Ordered an Odin Pro today and it won't ship until August 1st. The 75% compatible Gamecube emulation and 50% PS2 emulation has me hopeful that I can finally get that perfect handheld emulation machine I've been looking for for years. EDIT: Also, if I were to run the Gamecube and PS2 games at their native resolutions, would I be able to get better performance?

Thanks for your review! Any chance we get a Steamlink-Test? I can't use Moonlight on my setup. Can't wait for my unit to arrive. It feels like this is the one handheld I've always been waiting for, aside from the Steamdeck (which has different use case). Good days for the handheld folks.

The Vita had separate buttons for the Dpad no? Like the dualshock and dualsense the 4 sections feel much more split and separate than the Odin

Great review (just another day at the office for Russ tho). The device is obviously bringing bang for bucks, however it is nowhere nearly as polished as some other overpriced device (such as AYANEO next), especially in the button control aspects, sounds like a device suits those who want to run more demanding system like gamecube but on a limited budget, but not an end game device like AYANEO next, and (IMHO) it worth the effort to continue working on the channel for Russ even if he met this device at the first place.

Are you playing as the Seahawks or as the Giants? And why is Lorenzen playing as QB for the Giants (rest in peace, hefty lefty).

Lifelong Wildcat fan here; Lorenzen was a backup QB on the Giants for a few years after he left UK. He was part of the '07 Super Bowl team that upset the undefeated Pats.
