The tunes are Kean O'Hara (3rd. air), Planxty Sweeney and Mervyn Pratt.
This old violin is relatively new to me. It has not been played for many years, and I am 'bringing it back to life'. If not played, violins 'go to sleep' and it's only by playing them again that their full potential is realised. Anyway, this one still has some way to go, but it's doing well. It is labelled 'Berini', which identifies it as a violin imported by the respected firm of John and Arthur Beare. This one may be about 80 years old.
