Thanks for this. Definitely getting one now. It will be so much easier to clean than my Thermos mug with a lid that has so many things to pull apart to clean.

New York City girl here. I like your style, honesty and math skills (I definitely lack the latter). Same reaction to the Kleen Kanteen Cafe Cap: poor flow, leaks, hard to clean, lack of heat retention (is that the bottle or the lid?). They just released a new version. Would love to hear your review of that model and hear if it's an improvement....Re: the Yeti, interesting. People have also complained about the Hot Shop Cap. They say the mid-section ends up bumping against your nose and people often forget to close it to a locked position after drinking, so it leaks (I don't know whether to blame people or Yeti). Funny, in reviews, it fairs poorly in heat retention. Two to three hours hot (and more like lukewarm) is why it never makes best of lists. On my quest to find a good coffee bottle, so far the winner is a bottle with a full screw on lid and a smaller opening (because drinking coffee from a wide opening has a greater chance of pouring all over you. But you lose drinking on the run. In the Yeti, your nose ends up inside the bottle (not sure if that's good or bad. Bad when you have a cold?). It also looks like there is no o-ring to clean???? That would be great. How does Yeti get a good seal? We Americans fail at replacing those rubber o-rings correctly, which ruins the seal. The best I've found for heat retention and leak-proof is the Kinto Travel Tumbler, (you can also drink 360) but no way to attach it to a bag...I don't get it. These are bottle manufacturers. Why is it so hard to get it right and why wouldn't a consumer not expect leak-proof and heat retention. Hydroflask just responded to me saying none of their lids are leak-proof. Hmmmmm. I want something worry-proof in my bag. Sorry for harangue. I'm a woman on a mission after many ruined backpacks.

See Change NYC all vacuum bottles the lid is the weak spot for heat retention as hot water rises and cold water sinks when it cools after loosing heat the whole contents of the bottle loose heat to the cap the hot shot cap is the most user friendly cap I have come across SIGG make a great thermos I have reviewed a couple of them in the larger sizes regards mike

KIS Bush Craft Downunder thank you so much for the explanation! Is there a solution? Always wanted to try a Sigg. Will order today. What’s the worst that could happen? It leaks and it doesn’t keep things hot. Been there, done that.

Looking and making a coffee and then commuting to work with the drink in the motorcycle pannier. Is it really 100% leak proof? Especially at hot temperatures.?

I have found it totally reliable if you are making instant coffee ☕️ without milk 🥛 might pay to let it cool for a minute or two before putting the lid on. I use a coffee percolator and add milk and haven’t had any issues regards mike
