The SB100 is one of the most capable, insanely fast and fun XC / Trail bikes. Go SB130 If you're a super aggressive rider (you're probably not) or you need a bigger bike to help with your confidence.

Would you say the sb 130 climbs as well as the 100 in open position? Thanks.

I love my under power (modulation) Sram than my over power Shimano XT 😄. Guess it’s just “different strokes for different folks”, 👍.

You’re definitely right, my first impression on my Shimano XT almost like yardsale/otb. Every time on that XT always remind myself that you’re on Shimano brakes :-). Keep up with your vid and have nice trail.

If I really enjoy the challenge of technical climbing and I'm not as passionate about the downhill, would you recommend the SB100 over the 130?

I demoed the SB130 and SB150 on that same trial, agree with most all your comments. The SB130 climbs incredibly well, SB150 not quite as well but it’s also an Endro bike. I agree 100% the SRAM brakes are very disappointing and feel under powered, as you say I felt like I was getting a pump just from the brakes going down the that center rock run by the creek. I would switch them out with Shimano XT brakes. I think I also prefer the Rock Shox Pike over the Fox 36, but the difference is closer. I would be curious to see how their new Shimano XT drivetrain model does

I've heard a review before say forget the 130 and just go for the 150. Not much difference in climbing but downhill is world's apart.

Great video, helpful review on the parts spec. Not a fan of SRAM brakes but glad the rest of the build is pretty spot on.

This is the trail that sold me on the sb130. No need to take the shock out of open :) Also had the same experience with the guides. Did you get to ride down "gut"? That's where the bike shines.

I ride in Ontario ; Kelso, HydroCut, Twin Ponds, Three Stage, etc. I see you do too. For our trails, even riding the most aggressive drops and features we typically see, which of these bikes would you say is best between the Sb100 or Sb130, or even the ibis Ripley 4 if you have any experience on that one? I’m always trying to push my riding with more aggressive features, and I also do the Kelso races. What do you recommend? I currently have a 2013 Giant Anthem and I’m shopping for the next bike. Thanks!

@@jordansemailaddress Hi! I ride these trails as well (mainly Kelso as I live in Oakville) and currently have a YT Jeffsy Pro Race 27 which I am selling. I am also interested in either the SB130, SB100, Ripmo or Ripley. It seems to me that if you go with a longer travel Bike the Ripmo is it and the shorter travel bike is a bit of a toos up between SV100 and Ripley. Have you purchase any of these?

Volvo EC350E Walkaround Yes I did get an SB100. So far it’s been awesome, but I also haven’t been able to ride many of the more challenging trails yet as they’ve been closed. Going to ride the Hydrocut tonight though! So far at least, I am really happy with it. I haven’t felt any need for more travel. It feels deeper and more stable than my Giant anthem 100mm did. The other thing I love is how far it wants to lean into corners! It’s wild how much it makes my older bike feel like it was standing upright all the time. This Yeti is so much more confidence inspiring and stable feeling both over rough or scetchy stuff, and when speeding around corners.

@@jordansemailaddress I think I might do the same and pick one up. The only few reservations I have are, I like to push the bike and being that the headtube angle is not quite as slacked as the SB130, Ripley or Jeffsy do not want the feeling of OTB'ing every descent!. Wondering how the SB100 would handle sketchy descents like Martin's Mayhem, Broken Spokes, Digger downhill or escarpment trail at Kelso. Opens up on Monday! Enjoy Hydrocut, pretty cool that its open now, may check it out this week. Glad that you are happy with the SB100, gets amazing reviews. Curious how it handles Hydrocut.
