I saw the Hondo and thought about buying it. I am very impressed with the Yeti products. Then I ran across this new chair in an email from Yeti. I really liked the Hondo. but liked the Trailhead Camp Chair is packability and more compact. I bought two and I'm glad I did. I did get a discount and still, though, that's a lot of money for a chair. The chair is very comfortable, a little on the heavy side, but it's very well made. I liked your review and yes, it needs something on the other side of the cup holder, some accessories like another cup holder, for your next beer.
@ScottSchulzVlogs

Definitely needs accessories! I was just put fishing yesterday and thought about how perfect it would be to have a fishing rod holder on one side. It’s sturdy enough to support it even if you’re not sitting in the chair. Thanks for the comment!

I bought the Hondo about this time last year, and have used it frequently, and I can say that it still rock solid, and as good as the day I got it. I'm a big guy, and aside from seeming like it's more "broke" in now, it's still 100%. Few more things. The Hondo does have a carry bag, but it's sold separately, as is the storage pouch. I bought both. The storage pouch is exceptionally handy. The fabric cup holder looks like a good idea. The Hondo version is solid plastic, and has to be removed before you can put the chair in the bag. No big deal. Would be nice if it were made to attach to both sides like this new chair, which it is not. The Hondo chair bag also has a fair amount of room to stuff beach towels or extra clothing or whatever into. I like the fact that the chair you're showing is foldable, and will take up much less space than the Hondo. My only reservation is will the seams hold up as well. Time will tell, obviously. Price? Yes, both are expensive but I'm sure that many people besides myself are tired of "HD" camp chairs from retail chains that break or fall apart after a few months. I'd love to see another review on this chair several months down the road after a period of significant use to see how it has held up. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for the thorough comment! I didn’t know the Hondo also had a bag. Interesting. I will definitely make a follow up video maybe 6 months down the road. I’m using it daily during the COVID pandemic to game in haha. So it’s getting its use. Also - FYI to everyone... I’ve contacted Yeti directly about them selling an extra cup holder or attachments for this chair since it has two spots to be attached and they currently don’t have additional attachments. However, I simply asked if I could buy the clip to make my own fishing rod holder and the customer service person was kind enough to just send me an extra cup holder that I will dissemble and use the clip to make my own fishing rod holder. I’ll also make a video about that process! Thanks again for the comment and mini review of the Hondo.

No video, but nearly 18 months of use, the Hondo feels like it did from day one. No give felt. I weigh 300 plus so I can def attest to its durability. I have tossed it in the back of the truck and in the garage. I bought my gf the Trailhead for an Xmas gift in 2021 and it is held up with no issues either. I do have concern with the seams as well, but 5 year warranty takes care of those worries for me.

That’s a great idea! So I reached out to Yeti twice and they won’t send me another cup holder nor will they send me the clip or even tell me where I can find a compatible clip to make my own fishing rod holder. They claimed they’re always working on accessories but couldn’t confirm anything. I’ve already researched the cost to scan and 3D print my own but it’s just about as much as another chair :/

My big issue with camp/lawn chairs is they give no lower back support. Can you comment on your experience for the lower back support?
@ScottSchulzVlogs
4 жыл бұрын
I’m no expert on seating ergonomics but I can say that I’ve been using this chair everyday since the COVID outbreak for an office chair and have had zero complaints for back pain or comfort. Since the material is all one piece stretched like a trampoline it molds to your individual back. It’s hard to explain in words but yes it does provide good lower back support especially if you seat your butt toward the back of the chair. I hope this helps.

@@ScottSchulzVlogs This was going to be my question. I work from home and need a new chair. I was thinking I could use this as an office chair during the week, then take it out on the weekends.
