I liked it. Very good form and a sound practitioner. Blessings.

I thought it was interesting when she was talking about how there were distinctions between the aesthetic side of martial arts and the applications. Her sword form was outstanding, and all of her students honestly looked pretty good, too! The dude bringing down the 3-section staff near that front row of people was hilarious.

@ricardomoonreading Last we heard she was a top executive at MTV China, so no she's not teaching in NYC anymore.

5:12 I think that's overcompensating a bit! Yes, the forms do have practical applications, but one cannot expect to be able to use them if one doesn't break the forms down into individual techniques and practice their applications against a resisting partner, which is usually not done in modern Wushu. The main purpose of modern Wushu is performance and athleticism and practicing it gives you speed, strength, grace, power, flexibility, balance and stamina. I really enjoy practicing it, but I learned the truth about it's combat value the hard way. However, all my years of Wushu training came to fruition when I started training MMA and I had a great advantage over most of my classmates!

She did make a really great point about avoiding conflict at all costs. Fighting is ugly.
