Yinka Odumakin wasn't just a name; he embodied the spirit of resilience and determination, standing tall for the rights of the people. As the national publicity secretary of Afenifere, a Pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, he was a symbol of hope for many.
Odumakin's educational journey paved the way for his impactful endeavors. From St. Augustine Primary School in Ondo State to CAC Grammar School in Osun State, and finally, Oduduwa College in Ile-Ife, his academic pursuits laid the foundation for his future endeavours.
Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Studies from Obafemi Awolowo University, and further studies at the University of Ghana, Odumakin was armed with knowledge to challenge the status quo. But it wasn't just academia that defined him; it was his unwavering commitment to justice and democracy.
Odumakin's role in the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) during the turbulent times of Sani Abacha's regime showcased his courage in the face of adversity. He stood as a voice for the marginalized, fearlessly advocating for the rights of the people.
