Hello, I have a YL 620 A and I still can't get the spindle to start automatically by the GCode of my machining program.. (M3 start/M5 stop) P00.01=1 and P00.16=2 Could you give me a solution.. When I keep P00.01=0 and P00.16=0 everything works in manual correctly thank you Philip

How are you connecting to the vfd? Via the mod bus port or are you trying to control the vfd via the input terminals?

I installed my spindle without the controlling board. My "u" was connected to 1, "v" to 2 and "w" to 3 (the spindle supplier told me this). When I start the spindle with the button "run" it runs, but then all light (com, alm, dsp, run, hz, rpm) blink very fast and i cannot stop or adjust the rpms. Does anybody had the issue? Has it something to do that i dont have a break resistance or is just the wiring wrong?

thank you very much, one question, any idea about the voltage supply for Analog input 1 "AI1"? should it be 5v or 10v? i am using 5 axis chines bob which give 10v not 5v for speed control, what could go wrong it i supply 10v instead of 5v?

From memory there’s no AL1 terminal on the yl-620 a, however the analogue input terminals should be 10v. What are you hooking up to the vfd?
@GraphicManInnovations
Жыл бұрын
@@ImpracticalMachinist mine is YL600series i am hooking that to the 5axis bob board (it output 0-10v) that worked with a voltage divider but the rpm is around half the input, i dont want to remove the voltage divider because in the manual the pot should use 5v, what do u think?
@ImpracticalMachinist
Жыл бұрын
@@GraphicManInnovations That makes sense since you're using half the voltage that the vfd is expecting. I can't imagine that 10v is going to do any damage to a pot that can use 5v.
@GraphicManInnovations
Жыл бұрын
@@ImpracticalMachinist there is nowhere in the manual that says that that vfd is expecting 10v, check the manual, it only mention hooking with an external pot using the 5v supply from the vfd itself, i will not be using a pot to be concerned about, i am concerned about the vfd input signal damage

Hi found your instructions/ comments very useful, the variable speed is there a terminal to extend that to a pot on the remote board
@ImpracticalMachinist

Yes there is, terminals v11 10v and GND on the green terminal blocks, there’s a diagram for this on page 3 of the manual. You will also need to change the appropriate setting which I believe is p07.08 but again double check the manual to be sure.

hey!, amazing video, already helped me alot. I have however found a weird problem; the screen of the vfd (Same as you have) Starts flashing all the leds and the display, when pressing any button a counter goes up, I have no idea what is wrong but i canot get it back to the normal screen to adjust the settings. Any ideas what it could be? Thanks in advance!

Sorry it's not much help, I tend to think that if everything is flashing and nothing works it's probably faulty. But check back in and let me know because it might be of help to someone else.

In the video I go over giving the vfd the motor ratings, the spreadsheet in the description also goes over the basic settings for the vfd.

Do you happen to know how to program the potentiometer?
@ImpracticalMachinist
2 жыл бұрын
The settings for the potentiometer are now in the spreadsheet linked in the description. Setting P00.02 selects whether to use an external pot and P03.08 and P03.09 set the minimum and maximum allowable frequencies.

I don’t believe so, though from what I’ve read it may be the ramp time settings that cause that problem assuming your spindle is good. There was a thread where it turned out that the posters spindle was cooked.

unfortunately I don't have any experience with mach 3, but according to this link you would use the rs485 protocol to control the vfd, not the control inputs/outputs on the green terminal blocks. buildyourcnc.com/FAQ/13383
