@@ahkkariq7406 Nah, Jan Egeland did a ton of good. They did this with good intentions, not everything has to be /s to be taken in the worst way. When he quit the UN they played this ong for him in the office and these two guys interviewed him sometime later too.

Idk if it's true, but someone said that Ylvis got a letter from a viewer of the show, commenting on how they didn't congratulate Jan Egeland on his birthday, and this song was born from that, which I find hilarious😂 Apparently they showed this video during a UN meeting, and Egeland was really embarrassed, but I do think he found it funny as well!

Not quite random as he has been known for doing good things. But yeah, it was because someone on the talkshow got angry because they didnt mention it was his birthday, on one of their episodes. So they made a tribute😅. Gotta thank that strange guy for complaining

@@mari97216 Of course he wasn't totally random, but also he wasn't some amazing figure - just one of many people doing good things. Many interpret the song as a tribute to a Norwegian politician who later got a job in a UN-related organization (the Refugee Council). I would now rather say that they are making fun of not only Jan Egeland, but all these Norwegian figures who, for some unknown reason, are placed in apparently important positions within the UN system, and who think they can save the world. They have probably all bought the position with Norwegian oil money.
@ToxicSkullFear

Why you so serious? A lot more countries with more loose oil money than Norway who sits on it like hawks. So no not very likely. In fact it was a tribute though randomly picked.
