You skipped over the scariest part of Jumanji, which is the fact that Robin Williams gets sucked into the game as a child and literally spends a majority of his whole life in a jungle fending off horrible things that want to murder him. Then we get to the emotional trauma where he goes back to his dad's factory where he finds out that his father was so grief stricken over the loss of this son, he lost all will to continue his business and it closed down. Robin Williams realizes his dad really did love him and he'll never get to see him again. Just fuck my shit up

The SpongeBob episode "Graveyard Shift" is the perfect example of this. I was four years old and had no idea who or what Nosferatu was, so I was watching the episode then all of a sudden it switched from colorful animation to a stark black and white picture of some creepy bald vampire man staring me down while they awkwardly added in a hand to flicker the light. What really freaked me out was what they showed after that, which is another still image, but this time he's smiling and they added this really weird and cartoony eyebrow movement that didn't fit with what was being shown. So I was very justified to be freaked out and traumatized, considering I had no idea who this was, what this had to do with the episode, and the fact that it just abruptly ends after that (also, the guy is just creepy). It gave me nightmares for the longest time.

Depends on where you are in space. The further away from the sun you are the colder it gets, obviously, but you can be pretty far from the sun and still feel its heat, since there's nothing in space to deflect its radiation. For example, if you were floating around in space right above Earth, you would slowly die of heat stroke rather than freeze to death. We're just that close to the sun. It's hard to say what would happen if you took your helmet off floating around above Mars. It's dramatically colder but somehow I doubt that you just instantly freeze like that.

You want to know what show really fucked me up when I was younger? Invader Zim. That show literally had an entire episode dedicated to the idea of crawling through air vents, secretly stealing someone's organs, and replacing them with the sort of random objects that you might find in a school. Another episode featured the main character taking out someone's eyes and replacing them with robotic ones, all as a 'friendly surprise'. I love the show now, but holy hell are there some moments that are not kid friendly.

So yeah, I remember after watching those monster blood episodes, I got really scared about death and dying, and what the afterlife would be like. My mother was a super devout Christian, but had recently divorced my dad, who had promised her not to force me to go to church. So in order to get her way, instead of telling me it was a dumb scary TV show (was maybe like 5 or 6 at the time) she insisted that my fear of death and hell were legit and I should accept Jesus if I wanted to go to heaven. Instead of telling to not freak out worry about being killed by monster blood. She used it to trick me into accepting Jesus. Looking back on it now it makes me so angry but I know she was just trying to "save my soul".

I don't think anything has ever come of it or if it has a chance to be made into an episode (if the series makes another comeback). So yeah, that's our send off with the Night of the Living Dummy series. A damn possession and no solid closure. Well, it could be worse. It could be the chilling cliffhanger with The Haunted Mask where the mask is still alive and Carly Beth will more than likely be on the run for the rest of her life to save her ass. I will never get tired of "monkey-fighting" snakes on "Monday-to-Friday" planes. Like, what even is a "Monday-to-Friday" plane? Is it a plane that only flies on Mondays through Fridays? Or is a plane that actually takes off on Monday, and lands sometime on Friday? How would they even accomplish that? It's so nonsensical that it's one of those rare instances where the safe-for-TV dub ends up making it funnier than the original profane line (and I remember when that movie was being released, the internet caught hold of that particular line and it became one of the most hilarious things at that time, and probably suckered a bunch of people into going to see a really terrible movie). I'm surprised they even bothered to edit it for TV, to be honest, as if anyone wanted to watch that movie again, let alone a TV edit.

I now want to see which came first. Its fun to guess if araki saw a trailer or a movie of something only for him to reveal it. Example: tremors came out some months before the crusauders fight the blind guy with the water stand.

@@GamingOS I don"t remember this monster blood trying to take off a push up bra form a person with pink hair that happens to be the daughter of the boss of a mafia organization, Pasione, which happens to have the name of Diavolo. I also don't remember any stands, but i'm not one of a stand user, so maybe i just couldn't see the stands. However, this does not take away from the fact that there was no monster blood trying to look at Trishe's Bahankas.

@Hideyoshi Kinoshita so the book of monster blood 2 came out in april 1994 while the goosebumps episode came out on my birth day Nov 16, 1996. Notoroius BIG( the jojo arc) came out on jan 31, 1998. Resident evil 2 the game with a similar ending sequence came out on jan 21, 1998.

I love that everything in Jumanji that scared Adum as a baby is why I loved it as a baby (and still do). Anything that was like a horror movie for children (Jumanji, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Return to Oz, Labyrinth, etc) was my bag.

The floor eating scene in Jumanji fucked me up, too. For whatever reason, I had a nightmare about this stain on our floor swallowing me as a kid so I never stepped on it. Wasn't a kid's show, but I tuned into Akira once around 8 years old because I was waiting for Inuyasha or something and the scene where the guy turns into a giant muscle mass and squishes people to death absolutely terrified me and I turned the TV off due to it. I was also freaked out by nearly all Courage the Cowardly Dog episodes and hated it with a passion as a kid.
