"The organization has been criticized for its conduct during sting operations and has been accused of exaggerating claims regarding its work. Former staffers at O.U.R. have stated that the group is rarely involved in actual rescues, and the claims of rescues have misled donors and the public about what the group does. The group's founder, Tim Ballard, was the subject of an internal investigation in 2023 after multiple former employees accused him of 'sexual harassment, spiritual manipulation, grooming, and sexual misconduct.' Ballard resigned as CEO as a result of the investigation. Weeks later, the organization was named in a lawsuit filed by two married plaintiffs who accused Tim Ballard of sexual assault and grooming". The theater was kinda chilly and the theater was a mess! The popcorn was stale!! That means that big Hollywood is trying to CENSOR this MOVIE” Like, that’s just going to a kinda crappy movie theater. I think I also remember someone saying that the theater was showing too many previews before “The Sound Of Freedom” (or at least taking too long for the film to start, which is not uncommon for movies playing in theaters), as if it was some conspiracy by the theater to torture the viewers, I guess. It’s like they’ve never been to a theater before. 😂 Most movies nowadays don’t start on the exact showtime, anyway, and have lots of trailers before the movie starts. Also, Russia is not a tradcon paradise that conservatives make it out to be. Russia has high rates of abortion and alcoholism, about a quarter of the people there are not religious (possibly as a result of the former Soviet Union instituting state atheism, but still a large portion of the population nonetheless given that the USSR dissolved over three decades ago), high rates of divorce, among other things. Alright, I don’t like the movie (in concept, haven’t seen it), but I don’t think the empty seats thing is accurate. Maybe in some areas, but as someone working at a theater, I can tell you our Sound of Freedom screenings were packed. People definitely showed up for it. The Pay It Forward system did not affect the Box Office results. What it did was essentially put the money all in a big pile, and at any time, someone could go into the website and order a ticket through there while taking money out of the pile. However, that kinda makes the grifting even more ludicrous, since on-top of the money people were already spending actually watching the movie, there’s the giant money pit that they have no obligation to actually put towards tickets. And I doubt too many people used it since they had to give them money to stop child trafficking. So on-top of the almost $200 million it made, it raked in probably millions more from donations, none of which has to get split with any theaters. That’s all pure profit. This was all a giant grift and it worked out spectacularly.

Man the argument I found myself in with this movie. A friend brought it up to me and I never heard of the film. My friend made the following claims. --it was a triumphant profitable film. --it was suppressed by hollywood media. --it was championing the anti-human trafficking movement. --Disney canceled it --Hollywood did not like it because all of hollywood loved Jeffrey Epstein and they doi not want films that involve child sex slaves in it. In the hour we talked, I researched as we spoke about the film. I used as many sources as possible, but I ended up making inferences into what really happened. First, I shot down the Epstein connection right off. It is ridiculous. If anything, they would fund the film more to virtue signal away from the association. Plus, we all saw how close the chinese concentration camps were to the Mulan Live Action remake. We know a rumor that big would be headlines in seconds. Secondly, the profit: I could not help but notice the two creators of the movie were suing eachother for ownership of the film for franchise reasons. If everyone is backstabbing eachother on a team, then there is no team, higher purpose, or "triumph" to speak of. Just egos suing egos for more money. Thirdly, the "suppression"; From the Sony Hack to Release the Snyder Cut, there is no such thing as bad press. And the filmmakers were going out of their way to state Donald Trump liked their movie. You don't mention that POST JANUARY 6TH unless you WANT the controversy to advertise. It saves you at least $20 million in advertising to just have a fake controversy. That is why so many disney movies have "this is the first game couple in a coffee shop in a disney film". Its trolling for advertising. Fourth, championing: I honestly thought the movie was about generic antihero cop movie. The trailer, the promotional poster, and the title says NOTHING about human trafficking and the movie is connected to no charities what so ever. And no historical events either from what I could find (I stopped caring 90 minutes of looking for it). If there ain't no charity or history, then it is just imaginary dangers inside a movie that is "raising awareness" of nothing. If Ferngully the Last Rainforest was called "Smells like Sunshine" and had Robin Williams smiling, no one EXCEPT the people who saw the movie would be made aware of dick all. Calling it "The Children we protect" or "Orphans and Fathers" would at least be evocative. "Sound of freedom" could be about a hippy rock band trying to win a talent show. The title means almost nothing. Fifth, Disney Canceled..............no it did not. The film was made by the exact company that made it. The plan did not change from begining to end of the production from all I could find. The Pandemic happened and the Disney Fox Merger did happen. There as almost a 2 year delay in release. But that was not canceling. I don't give a fuck about remembering all the studios named, but I remember it was the exact same coproductions, funding, and distribution deals before and after the supposed cancelation. I found that out 10 minutes into that argument and kept finding confirmation of that to my sadly entertainment ignorant friend. So, the film ended up being made by a pair of hacks who were happy to troll Trump Haters and Supporters for advertising. Virtue Signaled some imaginary victory over hollywood pedophiles. NEVER LEFT THEIR ORIGINAL CONTRACT DEALS OR INVESTORS. Wrote a completely fictional story without even a hint of the theme they were virtue-signaling. And then these scumbags started suing eachother the moment their movie made money. Because they were scummy hollywood average assholes in the begining, middle, and end of this story. No cancelation, child victims, message awareness, or Jeffrey epstein played a part in the whole damn thing. But a lot of fuckheads WANT to talk about those things. So these liars baited the online ranters (myself included at this point) to use the film to soapbox. Fuck, are we sad or what?

Then there are the Hollywood ones. Sacha Cohen (the Borat guy) went in disguise to a Hollywood party and started asking various people where he could get some prostitutes "under bar mitzvah age". One of the staff members at the party offered to do exactly that. Cohen freaked out and turned the footage over to the FBI immediately, who proceeded to do absolutely nothing with it. Correction: At 10:36 the text that pops up says "seven of the women he was supposedly "saving" are..." These aren't women he was "saving", they were employees and volunteers that worked for him and his organization (OUR). It is largely centered on this idea of Ballard's called "the couples ruse" which you should really look into if you want to have a laugh at how ridiculous, unserious, and completely made up Ballard's stories about rescuing kids are. It was all so he could have guilt free sex with women other than his wife as a Mormon.

100% with Adum about Cuties. If they had not made it live action, and instead made it animated with adult voice actresses, I would've probably given it a watch, since it's a good topic. But making an anti-sexualization of children movie with sexualization of actual children is a big no. Let's be clear; No matter what topic it was, if a movie/show/piece of media or just anyone sexualizing actual children, it's not something to give the time of day. Should also be noted that the Sound of Freedom fans are not only the same people which also tend to watch child-rape-apologist & 16-to-17-old-girls-should-be-married-and-pregnant Matt Walsh, but also vote on pro-child-marriage Republicans to the degree that there is US states with NO minimum age to get married, which yes, is just selling/giving kids to dangerous people.

The whole "pay it forward" thing is so hilarious. I have to assume that everyone who loudly wondered why the "mainstream media" wasn't talking about this movie was totally aware of this - that it was being pushed up the box office charts while playing to largely empty theatres. Deadpool 3 should end with RyRey reading this exact script over the credits.

@@larissabrglum3856 - The sad thing is that it's all about exploiting people's protective instincts towards children to manipulate them. You see it everywhere when someone lacks the honesty to just explain why you should agree with them. The gross part is, when you look into Tim Ballard and his little movement, it's so grubby and stupid. Like, if we're being at all charitable and not just treating him as a money grubber, he's basically using people's emotional response to the idea of child trafficking to attract the kind of guy who thinks that the best way to tackle child trafficking is to think "What Would Steven Seagal Do?" If the kind of straight-to-DVD action hero bullshit that he and his cadre of marketing execs want to engage in actually helped with child trafficking, I don't think child trafficking would be a problem. And you'd think people would realise that the fact that it IS still a problem means it's maybe a bit more complicated than that. But apparently people would rather believe that it's a really easy-to-solve problem and that Guvmint just wants to drink scared baby juice to make its wrinkles go away.

Tim Ballard was BIG in the Mormon Church, real chummy with the high-up people, and they in turn promoted OUR and his work. Since he's been outed as someone who does SA on his own female coworkers, the Mormon Church has excommunicated him and scrubbed all mention of him and OUR on their web presences. He was about to announce his candidacy for Mitt Romney's old Senate seat, when people came forward with all sorts of skeevy things about him and lots of receipts. Also, isn't the most common type of S. Trafficking for kids in the U.S. when a Queer kid gets kicked out of their home and falls victim to it themselves? Not "illegals" trafficking precious suburban white children, but all those well-to-do conservative parents blowing a gasket when they find out their child uses they/them pronouns, and then shoving them out the door.

So maybe it’s not fraud but I would agree it ended up being a scam considering how it was purely ideological and had 0 practical objective and ended up just receiving donations based on false premises.

Once upon a time a guy named Hunter S. Thompson wrote a book ostensibly about his experience covering a race for a newspaper but mostly detailing a week-long booze and drug bender he had on his bosses' dime. In that book he describes a weird, black liquid identified by an amphetamine and LSD addicted lawyer as adrenochrome: “There's only one source for this stuff, the adrenalin glands from a living human body.” Now Thompson was super popular with drug culture, obviously, but he was also extremely popular with conspiracists and fans of paranoid fiction. The guys digging Phillip K. Dick were digging on Thompson too. And they saw him, like Dick, as a dude unafraid to speak the awful truths about reality that "normal" people ignore. So they took him at his extremely inebriated word and adrenochrome became a watchword for inhuman pleasures enjoyed by the upper crust at the physical and moral expense of the average man. Over time, their paranoid wink-nod references were taken to mean more and more unspeakable things by the freaks and junkies they were winking and nodding at until it came to be a fountain-of-youth super drug harvested from babies. So to answer your question, purely for the hedonistic extravagance of it. And if that sounds unrealistic, there's a reason for that.

It's quite simple: They don't actually care at all about the logistics of it. All that matters is that if what they believe is true, then in their mind it justifies every action taken to get to this point and every action taken against the groups they blame for society's perceived decline. So no matter what, no matter how thoroughly their beliefs are demonstrated to be wrong, they must continue to hold fast in the face of doubt, because they cannot bear the weight of admitting they were duped. Shame is an _incredibly_ powerful thing.

Also, Caviezel references DUMBS (a Q-Anon acronym for “Deep Underground Military Bases”). This crazy conspiracy theory revolves around the idea that there is a parallel underground civilization of military bases that spans around the world with advanced technology and where alleged atrocities are taking place (trafficking rings, human experimentation, sacrifices, etc.). It almost resembles the plot for Jordan Peele’s “Us”, but without the doppelgängers. I wish I was making this up.
