How are you doing with your new YS640?
@jajtruck1

Received my Ys640 On the 28th of December. Ordered the same set up you have minus one door thermometer. First cook was on December 31st. 3 racks of Baby back ribs. Outstanding!. As a former wood chip burner i felt I needed to check the temps every half hour. No need!, The YS640 is a rock. I researched YS640, as well as other pellet smokers, for about 8 months before buying one. I watched reviews from you (multiple times) TonyBuddy123 and Joe from Southern Coastal Cooking. This thing is worth the coin. I am really going to appreciate sleeping without worrying about controlling the temperatures. Love it. More good cooks to come. Thanks again. JJ

That's all awesome to hear. I have a BB in the freezer. I should thaw it out and cook it soon. Thanks so much for updating us on your journey. I love cooking with stick burners, but I love my sleep even more and it works out so well with the Yoder. Almost set it and forget it.

love the video man. beautiful smoker! I'm looking to upgrade my traeger texas for one of these bad boys! Can you do a detailed video of this. The features that came standard and the additional features you added on it and why. I have a dealer near me but do not have any yoders in stock for me to look at! They can't keep them in stock!

How happy are you overall with this unit now that you've owned it for awhile? Have you noticed any difference in the smoke flavor or meat texture compared to the other pellet smokers you have owned? I keep reading that the Yoder cooks more like a stick burner then other pellet smokers that have a centralized burn pot. Just wondering If that is true.
@RashleysBorderQue
7 жыл бұрын
I am very happy with it overall. I can't/won't really say that it is more like a stick burner than my other pellet grills. I find them all pretty comparable as long as you run them on a lower temp for a few hours to give the smoke flavor and then run them up to your desired cooking temp. I am finding that my Traeger fluctuates less than the Yoder, but I have heard that there is a firmware improvement for my Yoder. I just haven't taken time to request the firmware upgrader and get it done.

Rashley's BorderQue if it doesn't hold temp as well and doesn't add to the flavor or texture of the meat what exactly do you like better about it then the other pellet grill you've had other then the looks or space?
@RashleysBorderQue
7 жыл бұрын
Mankite The temp fluctuation doesn't bother me that much. Trapper will hold +/- 10 degrees, Yoder runs +/- 25 degrees, but average temp works out the same. The Yoder will hold twice as much meat. Yoder is built of much heavier steel and most important to me it is made in the USA.

I'm really thinking of buying one soon. Could please share with us the total price paid for everything you ordered?? Shipping also if you can? And IF you done a brisket and or pork butts on it, was the smoke taste enough?? I really want something that will truly give great smoke level taste.

See my other reply for comments on Smoke flavor. I wrote a long reply to your other inquiry. I don't have my receipt handy but recall it was just under 3000 with all options and shipping to my driveway. Options included, grill grates and tool, dual lid thermometers w/ install, dual probe ports with install, 10 inch wheel option, competition cart with silver paint, stainless steel solid shelves, cast iron griddle, thats about all I remember, and I am not sure if all of those options are still listed.

@@RashleysBorderQue did you get rid of it due to rusting? mine would sit outside with a cover. Ive been looking at the Pitts & Spitts 1250. Did you purchase another pellet grill?
@RashleysBorderQue
Жыл бұрын
@@sdlittlefield No, the controller went out during the pandemic and the replacement parts were stuck on a ship offshore from California. After waiting for 6 months I traded it to my local dealer for a Traeger Ironwood 885. I know the Yoder is "made in America" but some of the parts are made overseas. It was a lack of parts avaiability that led me to trade. The local dealer has a huge inventory of Traeger parts hence my decision to change brands. Were it not for the parts supply issue I probably would have kept the Yoder.

@RashleysBorderQue
8 жыл бұрын
+Scott Valenzuela Thanks for watching and for your question Scott. I ordered my Yoder from "All Things BBQ". Here is a link to their site; www.atbbq.com/ If you can find one locally somewhere you might want to purchase it locally in your area. If you order lead time can be months. It took 6 to 8 weeks for my pit to arrive. By calling around to various dealers, if you can find one in stock somewhere you can get it quicker. Hope that helps! I do want to say that the customer service with All Things BBQ has been excellent!
