Lucas, I love your teaching style. One feels like you are chatting to the person watching and listening. That’s me! I live in Australia and I love all your helpful advice . I am still teaching a gentle yoga and chi gung to an older group . I am 76 years old and obviously some of your asanas are a tad too difficult as I have osteoporosis in my left hip and knee but I just keep on moving regardless of discomfort . Bless you for all you give to the yoga world . Mellaine😊❤

Thanks for the video. I have had lower back pain since over 12-14 years now. I have been to a chiropractor, Ortho, Physical Therapy...you name it. But still nothing has helped me so far. I keep wondering through all these years if it is my fault? Am I just not consistent with what is recommended? Am I just giving up too soon? I honestly don't know but this is very frustrating and I have no idea what to do!! I am glad my pain is not extreme like many people but it is still enough to affect the quality of life that I live. I am scared to do any weight lifting with the fear of making it worst. I am scared of even doing basic squats (without any weights) since every time I have tired this in last 8-9 years it makes my back pain worst and I have to stop it and it takes weeks for me to get back to normal level of pain. Like I mentioned the pain is manageable but it is always there. Its worse during morning hours. Your video gives up hope. I do intend to try these poses. But I fear this as well since I would keep wondering if I am doing it right or not. Also this is so hard to monitor an measure the progress. The degree of pain is different on different days. Any treatment I would start, I would have no idea how to measure the progress and that makes it hard to stay committed and being consistent with anything. Sorry about my lengthy rant about my condition. I would appreciate if you or anyone reading this could point me in the right direction.

I have a habit of tensing my posterior chain and it gives me wicked back pain. If I bend and stretch, the pain goes away but I essentially have to bend it stretch all day long. I learned this when I went on a cruise and my back pain and miraculously disappeared after 2 years and then I realized there was some type of bracing or holding or tension and it went away for 3 years. But now it's back and even though I know it's that, I don't know how to relax those smallest muscles.. the tiny ones that are beyond your conscious control

Thanks Lucas ! All your videos are so useful ! I'm practicing from the lost two months, but still have so much pain. I have one cuneo vertebra ( D12 I think) and scoliosis, and in the last years my lumber spine is gone. I mean the RM says every space from L3 to S1 is compromected. What is better for me, doing poses such as torsion or not ? Thank you so much for all you do !
@YOGABODY.Official

Hello Anna - check with your doctor, but in some cases, as you're healing, you'll want to limit flexion/extension specifically and work in a more neutral spine. Pain is your gage, back off when you feel it.
@ianwekwerth1616

Thanks, Lucas, will certainly try the poses. One question, though: after getting up in the morning, my lower back really needs attention. What mostly helps: rotational exercises, like your Twister or Flamenco Pose. I can virtually hear the blockages relieve. Why is that and is there anything I can do to prevent the blocking in the first place?
@YOGABODY.Official

Hello Ian - pretty common to feel stiffness in the morning. There are temporary adhesions and dehydration of tissues. Sounds like you found a routine that works, that's great, keep going with it...

Thanks Lucas! Love your videos and your explanations. I have a hard time with the squeezer pose without the squeezing in a video series I love called Aire Yoga. Often have to stop because it causes lower back pain for me, even though I know it's supposed to help. Wondering if the squeezing portion makes it safer or what the purpose of that is? Thanks for all that you share! (You should have been a dancer, those feet!)

I stumble on your Y-T canal... You seem to be for me the perfect guide for steering out of that mess.. (I had been practicing yoga a lot till 1 year ago as i started to get repeatedly wounded around the sacrum (SI or lombar?) a.n.d around the right shoulder. sounds here like inflammation and has lasted now for weeks and weeks ..) Both together is hell... no posture available.. I got it: ligaments? Pain as a red light.. Now i have from you the SI and back pain programs.. See what is your advice for that shoulder ..

Very nice content as always, thank you. Some people have back pain because of the work we do. I work on farms with hand tools, and the lower back takes a big toll every day, even if I deep squat when I can instead of bending to the ground, but it is not always possible as when shoveling for long time. Would it be better to do different exercises in that case?
