Tip: I don't recommend the Cup of Noodle museum unless you have children with you. While it is a little interesting, it wil not entertain adults/teenagers for long. We were made fun of by my inlaws because it is very much considered a "childrens field-trip" location.

Hi, Kenchan. I might be visiting Yokohama in the Fall. I do remember you made this video. I am interested in most of the places you went except the Kirin just because I don’t drink beers. I have two questions: 1) how long did it take you to walk from 新高島 area to 元町中華街 area including all the stops? It’s amazing you could finish all the sightseeing in a day. 2) by the end of the video you seem to go uphill to a viewpoint. Is it 港の見える丘公園展望台 just to the west of 元町中華街metro station?

Hello Chow san, I checked my photo data and I left Nissan Gallery in 新高島 at 11:20 and arriving 中華街 around 15:15. So I was walking around 4 hours including lunch. Yes, that park at the end is 港の見える丘公園. It's a nice area to stroll around. :)

Visited last month. The inside of yokohama station is very beautiful. I have been to the Nissan engine museum and it is really a good experience if you wanna drool over cars you cannot buy. But next to this museum (other building) there is the Hara model train museum which is a fun in between activity I can recommend to everybody of all ages. Difficult to purchase tickets but staff will help you. Yokohama is a great area for strolling around and there is so much to see and do that 1 day is even too short. Especially the parks and tourist spots like osanbashi and the park next tot the gundam factory. The worldporters shopping mall with the bandai namco cross shop and aeon cinema is great. I even enjoyed the various yokohama city qr code's that where in various places which explained the history of that site. I agree with the redbrickbuilding but there was a dog show when I was there which gave it a nice touch.

I was in Yokohama a couple months ago and this video brings back great memories. I thought it was a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. I did go to the Cup Noodles Museum which I enjoyed, especially the custom Cup Noodle I made. My favourite part of my time there, however, was seeing a baseball game at Yokohama Stadium. Japan is awesome!

My wife and I will be on cruise departing from Yokohama this autumn. Before getting on the ship, we will be staying in Tokyo (near Tokyo station) for couple days. I know there are few local trains running from Tokyo Station to Yokohama. But because we have to carry two mid-size luggage with us, what would be the easiest way to travel from Tokyo Station to Yokohama other than by taxi with luggages?
@tokyokenchan

Hello, I don't know any ways to move from Tokyo to Yokohama other than trains and taxi. The easiest would be to take Tokaido line from Tokyo to Yokohama, and take taxi from east exit (if not Daikoku pier). The trains are not that busy if you don't choose commuting time.

Right now on day 14 out of 17 on my trip. Tokyo->Fuji->Kyoto->Osaka->Hiroshima->Kanazawa->Tokyo I’ve had day trips at Kyoto, Himeji, Nara. I’ve been loving it very much. Tomorrow early I‘m exploring Kanazawa. Around evening it‘s time for me to take the Shinkansen back to Tokyo. Staying around Shinjuku area, which I haven’t explored much at all. Tokyo is mind bogglingly huge. I could have spent my time only there, but I wouldn’t have seen 1/5th of everything 😆. I still have to buy souvenirs at Don Quijote. That alone will take a bit of time from my last full day in Tokyo😢 For my first visit I’ve feel that I’ve had a great overview and have so far experienced variety.

Yes, you can take Toei Asakusa line. If there is no direct one to Yokohama, as many goes to HND airport or Nishimagome (branch of Toei Asakusa line), I recommend you to take any trains to "Sengakuji" and wait in the same platform where you get off. Most of the train start from there.
