I saw alot of people wanted to know about this so I decided to help, maybe sisi yemmie will still respond though. so basically wedding introduction is a simple formal ceremony where the groom’s and bride's family members officially get to know one another. From what I can recall, some 10 years ago it used to be done in the living room mostly with just nuclear family and very close extended families in attendance and very good friends of the couple. The couples would wear similar clothing. Nowadays its much larger, friends and family even pick similar clothes(asoebi) to wear and event halls are used for the ceremony instead of the house. Traditional wedding is the wedding proper, where the groom pays the bride price, takes the bride officially and she is welcome into the new family plus all the other rites, a much larger crowd is present and there's usually asoebi meaning almost everyone has the same materials for their clothes and headgear(gele). The white wedding is just a borrowed thing as a result of Christianity coming through the whites so we sorta adopted it. Here after being joined in a church building, there would be a wedding reception to entertain guests. That being said its hungrying me to be part of a party planning😥. Its been long since any very close relative had a wedding, birthday party etc Enjoyed the video 💜

you have the opportunity to experience African culture by researching where you identify with the most and going to live there for say a year. You might love it and stay, changing the trajectory of your decendants. This world is so small now and one can travel and experience it. As a born and bred African living in Canada, I experience the best of both worlds and it honestly enhances your perspective on the world.

Uncle Junior was a key figure in my being hooked to Sisi Yemmie's vlog. Lol! He was such a great help to Sisi after Tito was born and Bobo had to go abroad for a while. At Uncle Junior making it up to us, "yinmu!" I remember when introduction was strictly between both families and limited to living room. They are even wearing "to match" I wonder what the engagement will be like, then wedding. Fine couple! Olorun a se won ni ore ara won oh! I didn't understand the significance of that term until after enduring the trials in marriage and seeing my husband standing gidigba behind me. Lol! Did she call Yomi "lekpa shandi?" Mummy and Daddy (Sisi Yemmie's parents) were doing looove! 💕 See Tito's old skool! Tito nor dey carry last oh! I so liked the video, I watched it twice! Grandma aka "Iyemi!" She's so bubbly!

This vlog is beautiful. I plan to visit all the countries in my DNA and might be lucky to get a glimpse of you and your beautiful family in Nigeria!

Normally introduction shouldn't be this elaborate but time has change alot of things..it's basically when the groom family comes to meet the bride' family, make their intention known then pick a date for the actual wedding. The women u see collecting money from the groom n his friends are like senior wives in d bride'family. Like their way of welcoming him or saying he can't just come like that n take a beautiful lady from their family without giving them something. Every other things is just formality, the main event is introducing the bride to d grooms family n vice versa.. hope u understand

Hello, greetings to all! Beautiful Yoruba wedding!. I have a question, can someone please educate me on, if it's common for children to refer and or/address their Father's, or Mother's siblings as Uncle, or Aunt. Or can they also be addressed as Nephew and or/ Niece? I heard that you can use both titles, for either relative. Thank you, and God bless🙏🏼💖
