Ms. Miller, is emigration from America growing? I’m feeling very anxious about the nation (not just politics), but I can’t ever find any news article about emigration while there are several articles on immigration to America. Is emigration really so low that it’s hardly something to make note of or are we missing a slow but steady exodus of people? I get that there must be other people like me who want to move to other countries (Japan is my choice), but are such people a minority or are we just overlooked?

You look like your close to my age by I can not guess. but I do think a great subject to cover is Charles Heston and the NRA. You've covered Christian Nationism. I have not seen one on gun control but I am very recent to your channel. But I see how much you love Ronald Reagan. And speaking of actors in politics or in other words (Speaking of the devil). I think Charles Heston and the NRA along with good ol ronnie would be a great topic to cover. I grew up as a christian black american so I know christian evanlegicals. And one thing they love is the ten commandments. And it had a major impact in politics and guns.

Flash forward to me finding the original article that the facefook page has edited: Mr. Jones was the defendant's parole officer, and the paragraph in which he was introduced hurt their anti-cop narrative by mentioning the defendant's history of crime. So, before ripping it off outright, the page's editor deleted the nuance-introducing sentences. What is being left out, indeed.

The following anecdote is told of William James. [...] After a lecture on cosmology and the structure of the solar system, James was accosted by a little old lady. "Your theory that the sun is the centre of the solar system, and the earth is a ball which rotates around it has a very convincing ring to it, Mr. James, but it's wrong. I've got a better theory," said the little old lady. "And what is that, madam?" inquired James politely. "That we live on a crust of earth which is on the back of a giant turtle." Not wishing to demolish this absurd little theory by bringing to bear the masses of scientific evidence he had at his command, James decided to gently dissuade his opponent by making her see some of the inadequacies of her position. "If your theory is correct, madam," he asked, "what does this turtle stand on?" "You're a very clever man, Mr. James, and that's a very good question," replied the little old lady, "but I have an answer to it. And it's this: The first turtle stands on the back of a second, far larger, turtle, who stands directly under him." "But what does this second turtle stand on?" persisted James patiently. To this, the little old lady crowed triumphantly, "It's no use, Mr. James-it's turtles all the way down." - J. R. Ross, _Constraints on Variables in Syntax,_ 1967

I just wish conservatives weren’t so resistant to critical thinking and wouldn’t rely completely on confirmation bias. My dad is a conservative and whenever he complains about some new thing that whatever grifter told him to be upset about, he can never answer basic questions about it and stumbles through some vague bullshit response. Yet despite knowing he’s ignorant of the details and source of his anger, he “feels” it’s bad or wrong, so it must be true when someone tells him it is and feeds him lies. He never fact checks. I remember, growing up, being taught about the importance of maintaining a good appearance (in the context of job searching) because people make judgements about you within seconds of meeting you and then often need a crowbar to dislodge their perceptions. People will hire someone they ‘feel’ will be a good fit over someone who can demonstrate the knowledge, skills and experience needed for the job. As an adult, I have witnessed multiple CEOs - with very different natures and methods - put this into terrifying action. For your Dad, being confronted with his own ignorance or the contrary facts may feel like an attack on him personally. On his judgement (which my CEOs have very much prized themselves on having), his intelligence and his capability. It’s a shame he can’t reflect on and consider that - but maybe engaging with his feelings and asking how he feels about x or y might be a way to at least get him talking and thinking about topics he doesn’t normally think about. He can be the authority on his own feelings, at least. Sometimes people like this enjoy being asked their opinion and are more open to changing it when it’s ’them considering/deciding’ rather than changing to agree with someone else.

There are plenty of Liberals who are lacking in their ability to Critically Think about matters that are presented, plus lot of facts that are skewed by both sides. Some people think that both Parties have flip-flop on where they stand on things since the 1860's. What really has happen is both sides are where they have been, just more people are really unidentified Independents who feel they voice won't count unless they identify with one of the the two parties. Sadly these are the base of each party that keep the system as Two Party system. Our founding fathers believed their should be multiple Parties running at election at all levels of government. The felt that way people could find a Party that match their own morals and ideas. Also multiple parties it would mean compromises between the Parties would be needed to have laws that satisfied all parties to the extent it was fair to all concerns. With the two Parties we have seen in the last 30 years the system grind to screeching halt.

We tend to overlook journalistic standards in the past due to our instantaneous media interactivity. Every school board in the world, be it in the US or in any other functioning country, is not meant to serve the students, it's meant to serve the existing regime. Schools will teach you to read and write but more importantly teach you that conformity and obedience are great virtues. Along with that, they also teach you the national myth. With the US it's often about how the US doesn't like war but only takes part in wars when needed, and that too always on the correct side of history. This is also the reason why the military recruits from schools, they're only the one stupid enough to believe the myth and die for it. Either way, it's not just the US. If you can, read a textbook from a part of the world the US went to war with and see how they indoctrinate their kids. Oh, and read war is a racket by General Butler.

So true. In the 6th grade, we spent an entire semester on a project studying various animals, the conclusion of which was that "only human beings can reason". I had literally just read a Reader's Digest article about how a chimp kept using tools (like a janitor's bucket and mop left too close to his cage) to, first, steal bananas and then steal the cage keys, before they caught him. I mentioned this example in class and was laughed at by the other students and given detention for talking back and "being difficult". I had to move to Europe to find out that the pilgrims weren't the first settlers in the US and the original colonists were PAID to go. The entire system is pure brainwashing.

I think the catalyst for the kind of change you're proposing has yet to emerge in the culture. Some more clever and effective way of using social media must exist that we haven't thought of yet which is the perfect solution both to our isolation and to our lack of ability to actually group up and do things. Hate to say it, the moment of the 2010s has passed. We're hurtling toward an inevitable crisis at this point and I think only when it hits us in a way we can't ignore are people going to forsake comfort for the greater good. We should be preparing ourselves for that.

I was a News Producer and even in a newsroom it is difficult to ensure the content you go with in your show is all good. We usually had stories that would start off in the show and remain tentative until we could ensure it was something we could actually use. And many times the story fizzled out and there wasn't really anything worth sharing, so we had to skip using it. To be media literate is a constant chore of ensuring the content you use pans out, or else you lose credibility. News outlets have to fight to stay vigilant and only use legitimate content. It wouldn't be bad if it wasn't for so many people just making up nonsense and posting it everywhere online. You have to vet your sources. It's a lot, but it's worth it to ensure the content you share IS true and isn't going to mislead people.

Elements of criminal culture go all the way back to the Grant Administration. So the bad guys were always there, which is why they had no principles and welcomed in the racists in the 1960's. But the point is, Reagan and even more so, the people who gave him the script to read, were a large part of the corrupt culture that made Trump possible.

Denzel Washinton summed it up perfectly. "If you don't read the news, you're uninformed. If you do read the news, you are misinformed. So what are you gonna do?"

I can’t lie, I shared your Project 2025 video without completely watching it. Your style of reporting has a good objective delivery and pretty thorough , so I was comfortable in doing so.

The "war of the worlds" broadcast reminds me of when 911 happened. I got up in the morning, went downstairs, and turned on the TV. The first thing I saw was the news reporting on the Twin Towers, and I thought it was just a B movie I'd never seen before. Then I realized it was an actual terrorist attack on the US. For me, it was the exact opposite of the Orsen Wells broadcast.

We have the right to believe whatever we choose. People have always embraced sensationalism. This isn't a new "problem." You can't change human nature or force people to be more critical thinkers.

@@MrsRitchieBlackmore, nobody is suggesting that we force anyone to do anything but do you not think it would be a better world if people were better informed and cared more about facts? You say you can believe whatever you choose but doesn’t it bother you if someone lies to you? Most of us (on the left anyway) don’t want to believe anything that’s not true. If you consciously choose to believe a lie I think that would have to indicate some kind of mental disorder.

You can teach the basics which are openly lied about even in this video. Bringing up trump and not mentioning the plethora of lies pushed by the media in order to churn more hatred against him and his supports. Things they had to retract and delete from their sites. Many of said debunked lies are still pushed by the media even no. This has caused several more thousands to stop watching the news as is

Let’s be real. Norovirus and Covid are transmitted on surfaces. Wiping down your groceries is still a good thing. 2 people in my family who never left their homes got covid. I know they never left because we ordered Amazon for them as they lived in rural Oklahoma with no vehicle. The only thing they did was grab packages. They waited at least an hour to get them too. Their doctor told them both the make sure to sanitize everything.

Just because you finish doesn’t mean you’re finished… don’t be lame, support your partners mutual enjoyment. Imagine never finishing because your wife did? I’m guessing eventually a statement would be made along the lines of “of course I cheated because I was constantly blue balled”… don’t be sexist. Don’t be dumb.
