Tommy, Ineos has broken through the Chicken Tax barrier 🐔🐓and delivered an overseas pickup to the market. When can we expect the Land Cruiser 79 and Hilux Workmate to show up at the local Toyota dealer? To my knowledge, the last pickup to carry the Chicken Tax was the legendary T100. 🤩🤩The 'right-sized' T100 would be welcome in a world of overweight, oversized half-tons and plump mid-sized pickups. For the record, the T100 was built by Hino who also made the FJ Cruiser. Today they make the Land Cruiser 1958.

The chicken tax certainly doesn't help anything with that, that's for sure. @ramaswamynarayanaswamy4806 what issues? They just took the good old LC70, improved the design, and threw in the engine and gearbox from the good old Hilux. The combination of a 1GD-FTV engine and a six-speed automatic transmission from AISIN has proven to be incredibly reliable since 2015. I drive a 2021 Fortuner with this engine and transmission combo. The mileage is already more than 60 thousand miles (100,000 km), and all this is mostly off-road, climbing mountains and fording water up to the hood. During this time, literally nothing bad happened to the car, I only changed consumables. The B57 from BMW in the Grenadier is also not bad, but it is a structurally complex engine, and I am not sure that it will also withstand the flooding, for example. And as far as I know, the B58 engine is also installed there, and although it is powerful, it has not proven itself to be the best in terms of reliability.

It reminds me of something that Outback Jack guy would drive while shooting camels They lost me at 1:27 with the price tag. Now if The Fat Electrician could get rid of the chicken tax implications from his video we could get the sweet versions of that little hilux everyone else gets. I will always need a 2500/3500 around the farm but something like that with a tray bed would be sweet.

UHhh. Man I'm sorry TFL guys but that bed is one foot too long. It looks so weird being so long, It needs an even shorter bed! That's going to hurt the rear departure angle for sure

Without a manual transmission it’s no truly old school.

The Power Wagon would literally don’t fit on trails where this would be comfortable to drive.

@@is6566 The Ineos actually is very wide. It would be interesting to see the dimensions compared.

The Chicken Tax is one of the least reprehensible things about LBJ.

This is what the Honda ridgeline should be except the price I spit my bloody tea and biscuit out when I heard that price

too expensive for what it is. people are going to look at it and just be inspired to get a gladiator. if they sold it for $20-30k less, then it'd be much more interesting.

Without the chicken tax it would be $20k less.

love it. but tapped out early. I've sort of stopped watching the $100K+ reviews for the most part.

I like it except for the bad ergonomics - i.e. no dashboard instruments in front of the driver - only that half tablet stuck in the middle of the dash - for that reason, and the price, no thanks!
