I have every characteristics of high porosity hair that you have mentioned in this video. And since my hair has turned grey mostly on the crown, on the sides and some in the back it's just impossible to style no matter what I use. The hairs that are still dark that is the underneath part of my hair they curly beautifully even have ringlets. But just can't get the grey hairs to be soft and frizz free. Really sad that I've lost the curl pattern on the grey parts of my hair. I still can't find a solution for it 😢

thats a shame. Maybe you could manipulate them by finger coiling or twisting?

same i used to it was low due to the test, but i’ve been growing my hair back out so i’ve been taking care of it (i tend to buzz cut it) and the moisture goes away in like a day to three

I thought my hair was low porosity as my hair used to take forever to get wet....turns out it was just product build up. Now i use a clarifying shampoos and stopped all the products...my hair gets wet instantly now. Im a heat trained natural

Hi yes but low porosity is usually genetics . You can change from high to medium if it is due to damage

I'm stumped. What's a long time for your hair to take to dry? Mine might be 1-3 hours to dry. Also I have thin hair so idk if that has a play on how fast my hair gets wet. When I do the porosity test it floats but I'm getting mixed feelings on the more vids I watch. Any help?

Long time is subjective as mine takes all day to be 100% dry if i air dry it . Ignore the float test if its confusing. Go by how your hair responds when you wash and moisturise it.

Yep my hair is high porosity naturally, can you share some tips to help it retain moisture?

Dont use too much heat, use very thick and heavy butters and seal it in with hair oil. Deep condition regularly, high porosity thrives on moisture & protein.

just keep on top of your deep conditioning and make sure you moisturise when needed.

Learn about ingredients. Protein treatments. Protein helps fill in the gaps. If you want to go the henna/cassia obovata route, you can. Use thick moisturizing products (leave-in, butter). Grapeseed oil, jojoba oil, castor oil, are great sealants. Watch youtube videos of ppl with high porosity hair. afope atoyebi is high porosity, and she really breaks down the ingredients for you and how to use humectants to your remoistorize your hair through the week.
