29:00 I said that it would make sense that Trevor thought Brad was in the prison, but he never said it explicitly. Trevorcampbell9294 pointed out that on Surveying The Score when Trevor is warned by Lester to not fly low over the prison as it would trigger an alarm, Trevor says 'Yeah, wouldn't want to get them jto get umpy before the break out". He prior to that discusses breaking out Brad. So he doesn't explicitly say Brad is in that prison, but it is implied by the combination of both parts. Surprised I forgot that as I have heard it 100s of times. 1:15 Someone pointed out that Johnny at the beginning of the game called Trevor a motherfucker, which may have contributed to Trevor's response. The prison always felt like a missed opportunity for a mission where Trevor puts together a heist to bust "Brad" out of prison only to find out that there's never been any Brad in there, and that's what makes him confront Michael in Bury the Hatchet - not just everything suddenly clicking and him going to dig up Michael's grave Like I could see it being like a weird twist on a normal heist where instead of Michael/Franklin/Lester it's Ron/Wade/Chef with Michael insisting that it's too risky, but then letting him go through with it and mayyybe letting Dave know in advance, lowkey hoping he sets up a trap for Trevor to finally take him out Then Trevor ends up making out of the failed breakout alive (and maybe someone in his crew ends up dead, like Wade or someone else), and that's what forces him to put the pieces together and realize Michael betrayed him

Great video as always. A couple of things though... In "Why did Trevor head to Sandy Shores turn insane and start making drugs?" You say that Trevor never explicitly says he thinks Brad is in THAT prison. I think he actually does. On Surveying the Score, if you fly over the prison in the Helicopter with Trevor and Lester, you get a line of dialogue where Lester warns Trevor about flying over the prison, a.k.a. restricted air space. Trevor retorts with "you're right, don't want to make them jumpy for the break out." Meaning he probably does think Brad is in there. In "How would Trevor know that Michael was still alive because of a quote that he got from a movie?" I think you missed a very important point. That quote he got from some movie, was the same quote he used on the North Yankton Cash Depot job, which as we all know was their final heist. Trevor knows someone talked to the authorities, and that someone got his best friend killed, and another of his close friends a stint in Federal Prison. Trevor fled and eventually landed in Sandy Shores. I guarantee in the nine years between Michael's "death" and his "resurrection," Trevor would have gone over that heist thousands of times in his head. You can see his entire demeanour change the moment he hears that line on the TV. He goes from having a good time with Ashley to looking like he'd seen a ghost. THAT is how Trevor knew. In "Did Trevor cut Martin's ear off, considering his band aid?" I think it's probably more likely that Trevor tried to bite it off. Would make a lot of sense given his character.
@DarkViperAU
11 ай бұрын
Oh true! He does say that, forgot. Hmm I think the quote being the same is more for us players, not for Trevor. I dont think that specific line had any significance.
@Lucas61616
8 ай бұрын
@@DarkViperAURespectfully, I don't think you're right about the specific line not mattering much. In at least one of Trevor's dialogues (probably several I can't remember though) he refers to Michael's love of old movie quotes, I think it may be when he's talking to Wade when they're first driving to Los Santos? One of the last quotes Trevor hears from his friend before said friend "dies" and he's probably left thinking about that job for years. Going over every little detail, getting mad, thinking about the whole thing for years and years. And then the TV broadcast, and he hears that quote again. (Technically not the quote but the witness butchering it instead) Keep in mind, that quote is what gets him to pay attention to the screen. He hears that paraphrased sentence and immediately he thinks about their last job. And from there, he almost certainly starts thinking again, looking for details on how this robbery was executed. We know he has this information by the time he reunites with Michael because he refers to the way the job was carried out all sarcastic like when Michael tries to claim he didn’t do it. That one quote is almost certainly the reason he even made the connection. He brings his attention to the report because of it, and from there he can make the connections between the similarities of this heist and their old jobs. He'd have probably still put it all together sooner or later without the quote or even the Vangelico heist, but it definitely would've taken long.

"Sociopath" is a media buzzword. There really is no distinction. Trevor is a psychopath that leans heavily to "factor 2 psychopathy" (reactive / irritable, impulsive, exhibiting antisocial behaviors, lacking in conscientiousness, etc), scoring lower in the first factor (shallow affect, interpersonal manipulativeness, superficial charm, lack of empathy, callousness, absence of any conscience, compassion, remorse, etc). Trevor is very much capable of love, compassion, loyalty, kinship and is honest - even to a fault, but nonetheless is extremely antisocial (criminal lifestyle), impulsive and explosive. They don’t cheat on eachother out of revenge, but because they just don’t simply care for one another. They only tolerate each other because neither of them can leave the relationship Even Michael admits to it. Their whole relationship is rockstars dig at don’t get married young. Michael literally says ‘he regrets getting married at such a young age and wishes he waited for the right person to come around’ talking to Franklin.

I've been saying this for a while, there's a lot more to crazy characters than just being crazy and the way that insanity is detailed is what makes or breaks these characters. Trevor is seriously one of the most complex and well written characters in the series and to have him just be brushed off by many people as a woohoo wacky murder man is disappointing.

Based on the Agency DLC in Online, the events of Online are after the story. Based on that we can assume Trevor didn't cut off Martin's ear because he still has both when you meet him at the end of one of his missions.

Gta Online took place before GTA5 originally, it wasn't until Gunrunning till Rockstar kinda fucked up the Timeline. So everything *after* Gunrunning takes place in current year, and all the original online missions, the original heists ect ect take place *before* story mode

18:05 In the Series A Funding heist in GTA Online, there is a setup mission called Bikers and in it you get a call from Trevor that explains more about what happened during the psychological evaluation which got him kicked out of the military. SPOILER WARNING: He says that during the evaluation he went off on a rant about how he didn't love his mother in a sexual way and that he felt like the therapist was accusing him of doing so by the way she was looking at him

12:45 I think the lifestyle coach/guru reference could imply trevor started a cult like epsilon-on lazlows radio show sometimes they interview a cult leader who advertises himself as a “guru”, as many cult leaders do irl. we also know Trevor hates the celebrity-hipster vinewood culture, so it would make total sense for him to try to scam them through a cult

13:59 Aye Matto, remember Trevor was kinda stalking Michael, the time he spawns across Micheals house with notepad...maybe he saw the first meet up with Dave, maybe he was still watching over Michael. Maybe he was stalking Dave. But yeah, I think that's a plausible reason to Trevors appearance.

I can't wait for the Franklin one and hopefully we get a miscellaneous episode or mission-specific ones to detail lore questions that don't really fit the three leads. trevor has always been my favorite character, yes he has the "im a psychopath and i dont give a shit" front, but if you pay attention like darkviper did you learn that hes actually alot more deep and complex then just "anger and death" the scene with tracey going up and hugging him like that shows that in spades i think. also viper dont forget the fact that right after the heist dave comes busting in going "anyone who knows your file will know this was you!" your theory on what happened in floyds apartment makes sense cause i could see trevor getting enraged over a stranger killing another one of his friends, after all he didnt know debra and floyd even though a coward was loyal and helped them out

I think another reason for Trevor idolizing Brad has to be the fake correspondence between Trevor and fake Brad. We don’t know the full extent of the letters between them but it’s gone on for many years to the point where Trevor was basically catfished by feds posing as Brad and it could be assumed that Trevor might’ve vented to or poured his heart to fake Brad at one point even though real Brad’s actually dead. Idk.

9:58 Yes he does appear to have no choice. When Trevor is called by Steve Haines for the mission By The Book he tells Trevor he is the one keeping him out of the gas chamber. When Trevor mercy kills Mr. K while the interrogation in the mission against the order of Steve Steve tells Trevor when he is getting bored with Trevors "Crazyness" Trevor will die and Trevor appears to take that seriously by insulting Steve and not laughing about it. This happens in the Alternate Cutscene when you dont give Mr. K Adrenalin to survive. Steve Haines truly is the most evil GTA Character there is. Trevor appeared to enjoy torturing Mr. K too but he is making these jokes while torturing him as his way to make the act possible like a child trying to be tough. I mean the second Steve leaves he tries to help Mr. K.
