Ante is a fabulous coach in his own right and was also a fantastic player. I was fortunate enough to have Ante Milicic as an assistant coach at my club Western Sydney Wanderers (WSW). In our first season as a club we qualified for the Asian Champions League. In the following year we won it. Ante was a big part of that success. In fact many thought he was the brains behind it. Well I wouldn't say all the brains but his contribution cannot be discounted.

I can easily see why Ange rates Ante highly. Ante shares a great many qualities with the Celtic coach. I believe Ante deserved a shot at coaching the Aussie national team but as often in Australia cronyism and pettiness, to put it mildly, invariably gets in the way of success. Wishing Ante every success and happiness!

Omg...... ante milicic is the worst coach in Australia bar none. I've got a question for you. What did he achieve whilst coaching the matildas apart from take them backwards? Also what did he achieve in two years whilst coaching Macarthur bulls??

@@shottskies I wouldn't say Ante is the worst coach. But, while he was coaching the Matildas, a culture developed amongst Ante's staff of not respecting the players, fat-shaming, and not understanding women's football. Ante's insights on Ange Postecoglou were interesting.

It's unbelievable the respect that everyone who's worked with Ange has for him, he's an amazing manager and we're seeing the fruits of that at Celtic now. I predict a big season ahead for the club and hopefully we can do something in the Champions League as that's where your judged as a team, it was 1980 the last time we made a quarter final against Real Madrid and that's far too long for a club of Celtic's stature. We were robbed in that tie as well as we had a perfectly good goal chalked off in Madrid and were denied a stonewall penalty too, not that I'm bitter you understand.

Ange is best manager Celtic have had for many yrs and only one gripe i have with him is he doesnt seem to play a plan B if plan A in Europe is not working and top sides in Europe can do damage to a back line when they are not up to it ..But i do like way he has team playing as Celtic are always been known for attack more so through out the yrs since days of Lisbon Lions i can recall from way back ..He may well shut some of us up inc myself depending how Celtic do in Europe especially in defence ..we have middle to front very good players , quick on breaks when ball is up middle to front and it looks good done with speed and good passing on route for goal ..We just can only wait see how this season to come pans out ..No one really is expecting Celtic this season to reach champs league last 16 at all but if he does then very good . If we go down to Europa and he gets to a final there then very good and if win such then Yipee would be brilliant , but i dont think either not the now anyhow and is tough i feel rangers got lucky with their draws to make Europa final when they got Dortmund at right time as Dortmund then were not on forn at all and they also got Lypzieg off form also in semis but came unstuck in final although they came very close in extra time were slight stronger team ..Celtic though i feel play the better football and Ange has Celtic back playing with attack in mind at all times and its way Lisbon Lions always set out to attack i think stronger than few yrs now that Celtic shall win Spl title this season , as for Europe its still like last season a bonus and more millions made for the board ..Following season after this then watch Ange gooooo ..this season looking forward to Celtic playing great football .

Pat, there has been endless conversations in trad media and on social media about Ange’s lack of a Plan A. Have you only just very recently become interested in Ange and his history? 🤔 Anyhow, he won’t change his philosophy, but rest assured, he tweaks in games when necessary. No Plan B but plenty he can vary within a game. Or, should I say, his players can vary things at need because he educates them to adapt a little to circumstances. Problem solve themselves. No major tactical shifts, no. Plan A is not a one trick pony. Never has been. 👍
@patsanters2741

@@glennmaillard9076 Doesnt seem to have a plan B and for Europe it is a must as proved last season in Europa ..Need a strong defence to do well also in Europe and i feel today celtic dont . Need in more Quality at back and height with it and strength ..Ange all he has bought in this season is a back up goalie to Joe hart and a 5ft 4" left back .
@glennmaillard9076

@@patsanters2741 Ange doesn’t have a Plan B. That was my response. Last season proved he did not have the team, nor had he had the time, to fully implement his philosophy. Celtic will be playing some phenomenal teams in the CL. No amount of Plan B’s will get him through. Playing his way is his only chance of success. Did you actually read my response Btw? Lol.
@patsanters2741

@@glennmaillard9076 I read yer response aye lol ..did likes ..I just feel defence we shall be caught out at back ..i do feel we can score goals v any team when Celtic get going in their stride full out attack with quick pace ..but at back i feel we could crumble as i feel Starfelt isnt the answer and we need in some quality at back with height and a guy who can read game well a Paul Elliot figure is in need and he was Quality amnd not easy got i know ..
@glennmaillard9076

@@patsanters2741 Ange’s players, all of them, are expected to defend without the ball. Tackle and intercept. So it’s incumbent they can transition back into defence swiftly. You can always find taller players, and quicker players, and providing the skill set is right, Ange will always look at these things. But what you get with Ange is the best possible list to carry out his tactics within his philosophy, according to his budget. But he doesn’t fiddle too much with formations. He sees it as counter productive to do so, unless he introduces a change into his Plan A. An evolution, so to speak, not a quick fix. Many still think he should have a Plan B. That’s fair enough. He won’t change. And if he does poorly in the CL, we’ll all discuss of a Plan B might have helped. Yet, if he does well, I’m sure we can still discuss a Plan B might have been even more effective. Even if Ange wins the CL! Some people just love Plan B’s. And some just don’t. I’m in the latter group. Have a good plan and make it better. Tweak the plan as you go. Make a major change at some stage, maybe, but that’s throwing out Plan A for another Plan A. To all their own. I just prefer Ange’s way. 👍

Ante will have some insights about Ange no doubt as he has worked with him. However he should not be allowed anywhere even remotely near a professional head coaching role because he is simply NOT GOOD ENOUGH. if you've watched the teams he's been head coach of and analysed their football with your brain you can see that he's out of hid depth. Actually, a big reason why he's such a bad coach is because all jhe knows is what Ange has taught him but he has no ideas of his own. Just trys to copy Ange. Well sorry but that won't cut it as a professional coach. He took the Matildas back a number of years with his poor coaching and his Macarthur bulls team was absolutely diabolical. He's just another headless chook football merchant who's team's run themselves into the ground but they never create any good goal chances And have absolutely zero nuance to their football. Good riddance. Stay in croatia and never come back. Laughable. It's guys like him who are the reason why Australian national teams are so unbelievably crap in this moment
