Speechless!!!! I'm sorry i don't care what anyone says, but when it comes to vocal quality no one i mean NO ONE can touch Whitney. Its hard to explain her voice because its hard to explain the majestic hand of God! And her voice came only from God! A breathe of fresh air!!!

I was blessed to have experienced a teenaged Whitney Houston perform in a small club in NYC. I along with Clive Davis was present. A second blessing came my way when I was chosen to host and produce The Official Whitney Houston Album Debut / Release Party. The event came my way via Carlos DeJesus of New York Hot Tracks (ABC Music Video Show). New York Hot Tracks TV Show was taped at Club 88, East Orange, NJ (I was the club director). Carlos Jesus hosted the show with Whitney by his side as co-host. It was the Official debut of Whitney Houston's 1st Album. Clive Davis was present along with Whitney's make-up artist "Quiet Fire". Thank you God for sending us a spirit known to the world as Whitney "Nippy" Houston. May she rest in eternal peace. - billie priest - Director Club 88 - club Zanzibar, New Jersey, USA

@@markdrinkwater1508 is that why when they were in the studio together Whitney did her parts in one take and Aretha had to go back 7 or 8 takes🤣
@markdrinkwater1508
2 жыл бұрын
@@mariahyohannes So what, that is meaningless, it is the worst song either of them had ever sung, totally crap pop at its worse, Aretha was obviously trying her best with it and it matters not how many takes, and she was in her mid 40s and not in one of her better voice periods. It's funny as all of you Houstin nuts seem to harp on about this non-issue yet Aretha is renowned as a one take studio singer, unless it's something that requires a few goes to get it perfect. Aretha churned out south studio music, the catalogue is huge, at the Columbia sessions she'd turn up and record one take after the other with full orchestra in situ along live one takes also, so you people are all nuts. The Atlantic sessions may have been a bit more creative, tracks like Aint No Way we're done twice over. But again, so what, Aretha's material was far superior to Houstons in every way, creating pop music masterpieces that are still sung at singing competitions around the world to this day,, whereas Houston was a good Broadway better, a singer of second rate cheese, there is a big difference.

That intro from 1:30 on was magical..wow! This woman is on this stage trailblazing a way for a lot of the artist that came after her. Her vocal style and delivery was 1 of a kind..She wasn't just r&b riffing all over the place but she could..she wasn't just pop because when she sang live she always added so much more soul to the live performances..she was also gospel. How long will it take for people to get that there's something to learn from her story. She was human. Her heart was a big part of how she sang. Nothing is simple. Not if it is real. This presentation of it is just perfect! A Whitney sempre me emociona. I know what you mean. It's like she song this song like she was singing it for the last time through all the pain, sickness, and stress/pressure. Life takes its toll, but this one was so special. She knew what she was doing and she always did. She wasn't trying to show us her musical agility, skills, and ability. It's like she was more so showing us how to feel the good love message in the song from her/the heart which is mostly where love lives. This will always be my favorite one of all the ways she song this song...!!!
