Martin, I have a Honda Civic that makes 612 whp on that same half radiator and it NEVER overheats. That has to be an issue with your water pump, or even the design of the water passages in the engine. I know the 4G15 had alot of issues with the cooling system and that's why hardly anyone opts to turbocharge them, and I don't know a damn thing about the 4G69, but it could be possible that it has the same issue. No disrespect to Mitsubishi guys (particularly the 4G69 crowd), I just don't know anything about that particular engine. I've owned 4G15s, 8 and 12 valve, 4G61t, NA 4G61, 4G63t, NA 4G63 in another Colt hatch, 4G67 (with a turbo conversion), but never a 4G69.

2Sexy is at the point where aero would significantly help its time! Time attack 2Sexy when? :D
@phantom240
4 жыл бұрын
2Sexy needs some serious suspension tweaking and body mods like chopping out the fenders and going flared or widebody. If it could keep the tires on the road, that thing would be a rocket ship. I have a sneaking suspicion that the spring rate is too stiff, and with the right sway bar setup, he could keep it pretty flat in the corners, while maintaining contact when the go pedal is punched through the floorboard.
@philspaghet

Great work, Marty. The car’s got a lot left in it and you’ve left some time on the table but who cares? You’re out there and into it and there’s not much better right? Makes me smile when I see people with performance cars that have only explored their limits on a public road. 5 laps says more than 5 years. Keep up the awesome content! Hook up some copper lines to the heater core connections on the engine and run them to the rear of the car, aftermarket motorcycle radiator and fan can be connected easily and mounted just about anywhere due to their size. Cheers from America.
@86surge90

you need BONNET VENTS / HOOD LOUVERS!!!! It's not so much about cramming more air in but increasing cooling efficiency of the radiator so you want to place vents on the hood just behind the radiator. the idea is to give all that air going through the radiator an easier way to exit. Otherwise it's just basically outside air molecules making its way in, to a packed club with no where to go. Also, if the car doesn't feel stable during high speed turns, you need to either: add rear flat underside with diffuser, or add rear spoiler, or add rear wing. The order here listed is by very little drag to most drag (the rear wing will give you most drag but most effective rear downforce). Can't wait to see what you do to it next!
