Not even close. It's really not as expensive as you think it is. I mean, yes, it's expensive, but American A5 wagyu is like $16-40 per pound. And what we got in this video looks like American wagyu, so a roast weighing 10 lbs would cost $160-400 depending on vendor and quality. Now, if we're talking about Japanese a5 wagyu, that stuff is where the money is at. It goes for around $120-300 per pound.

My farmer friend told me along time ago, when Black Angus prices were sky high, what's the difference between that Black Angus and that Cow are... drum roll please... Absolutely nothing. He feeds all of his herd the same, but the city folk will pay me more for Black Beef. He said in the winter time, he feeds them all with the hay that they rolled green and wrapped in the white, heavy plastic, you see on the farms. The cow get a little cabin fever and the green hay has fermented and they get their buzz on. I wondered why it smelled like a whiskey factory. He said he also feed them other food too. I would half a cow and my sister-in-law would buy the other half. Best beef I ever ate and pig and lamb. Yummy! Rest in peace my friend, Dick. 😀
