thanks for the right to the point tutorial, I 'll start doing the 45 angle and stop using my wrist. if you can do another tutorial for the backhand and when the ball is high and we are unable to hit it coming down.

Thanks but what about a good way to do a backhand 3rd shot drop, I only saw forehand shots.

The tips should be applied to the backhand as well for the most part, but I will be making a separate video on the backhand drop, so stay tuned ☺️

Good tutorial. How do you like the Fat Boy?
@bk_pickleball

It's a great control paddle, huge sweet spot!! Good choice for a lot of intermediate players looking for a control based paddle with forgiveness! Not ideal if you play a two handed backhand, definitely geared towards single handed shots.

@@bk_pickleball Thanks for the response. I am a 4.0+ player and use the M2 Forza 16mm paddle. I can generate my own power. Your thoughts on the Fat Boy compared to the M2 Forza? I've read the Fat Boy is much stiffer/poppier. Thanks.

Question, I noticed your 3rd shot drop lands at the back of the kitchen. If I use this in my games, my opponent reaches in and attacks while I'm still back.... this pushes me out of position. How can I build a 3rd shot that drops a foot or less into the kitchen. I need a fully unattackable ball for a 3rd shot.

Deeper thirds are good when you can hit them away from your opponents and get them moving. Shallow thirds can be hit with the same mechanics, just add more height so the ball has time to drop down closer to the net. As long as you can get your opponent hitting the ball from below the net, it doesn't matter much if they take it out of the air. The goal is to get them playing from below the net so they have to swing upwards.

One trouble I find myself in is when I'm playing bangers. Does everything you're teaching still apply when there's a hard drive coming at you? Thanks in advance.

I think this is an excellent question. I have my own ideas but lack the certainty to opine on this issue. Hopefully, someone more knowledgeable will comment
@bk_pickleball

For the most part, yes! Biggest difference is, a lot of the times with a hard drive return, you don't have time to really wait for the ball to start coming down before making contact. What you wanna do for those is slow down the swing speed and follow through, and most importantly, get more height on the drop! Softening the ball and getting a smooth arc on the shot will help drop it in the kitchen

Useless video. Nothing new, has been shown by hundreds of other videos for years. Down thumb.

Actually, he is following a slowly emerging trend of teachers who r advocating making contact AFTER the ball reaches its apex. Until maybe this year, almost all teachers advocated hitting the ball AT its apex.
