On our recent journey through the lower half of Pennsylvania, we made a stop at the Timeline Arcade in Hanover, PA. You may have already seen the video for that one which I uploaded a little while ago. It's a free-play arcade with timed entry, but here's the thing -- it's one of TWO locations. The second location is about 30 minutes away in downtown York, PA. And they sell a wristband that's good for entry into both locations all day long. So with a deal like that, how could we turn it down?
The immediate thing I noticed about the York spot was that it was much, MUCH bigger than the Hanover one. Even from the front, it appeared to be twice as large, and that's just from looking at the front room, not to say anything of the entire back half which has even more games! The collection here strongly focuses on classic retro hits from the 70's, 80's, and 90's, with a little bit of some more modern games thrown in and a minor amount of redemption-style games (but no tickets, just for funsies). They have nearly every retro video game you could possibly think of here, and some that I've never seen in person before. The pinball selection at this location skews more along the lines of modern Sterns compared to the Hanover outpost, but there's still some older tables like Spy Hunter, Elvira, and Radical in the mix here as well. And unlike Hanover, this one actually has a number of rhythm games, including DDR Extreme, Pump It Up Prime, Guitar Hero Arcade, and even the rare PercussionFreaks drumming game!
My only complaint is that I didn't have enough time to spend here, but honestly, it's all the more reason to come back again in the future. If you're a local or ever in the area, you owe it to yourself to come check out this absolutely amazing arcade!
