"Dinah Washington" (born Ruth Lee Jones; August 29, 1924 - December 14, 1963) was an American singer and pianist, who has been cited as "the most popular black female recording artist of the '50s". Primarily a jazzvocalist, she performed and recorded in a wide variety of styles including blues, R&B, and traditional pop music, and gave herself the title of "Queen of the Blues". She was a 1986 inductee of the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.
- Lyrics -
Well you're a nobody
Untill somebody loves you
You're nobody uh, uh, till somebody cares
You may be queen,
You may possess the world and its gold
But gold won't bring you happiness
That is when you're growin' old
Well the world is the same,
You'll never change it
As sure as the stars shine above
Like I said you're nobody till somebody loves you
So find yourself somebody, somebody to love
I said the world is the same,
You'll never change it
As sure as the stars shine above
Great God oh might, you're nobody
Till somebody loves you
So you'd better find yourself
You'd better mind yourself,
You'd better find yourself
Go out and find somebody to love.
