Fully agree. I am a minimum-effort person. I try, but that edge falls off (I'm getting better) But, regardless I do keep pushing myself. I just switch gears for a bit, from writing to reading to picking up a hobby, and circle back. That said, I realize there are things you can't do that with. Hence, why I decided to agree to go with a personal trainer route at my gym (I blame you Devin) As I now have a person I'm accountable to. Yes, we are accountable to ourselves, first. And, eventually, after enough time and work that actually becomes easier. As your mindset shifts to a more positive and productive state of being, because you start to see progress and results. But in the start, let's be honest, if we let ourselves down it's not as emotionally triggering. Start letting other people down and it hits a little different. The point is this, yes put in more energy and focus to see better results. But, one way to increase consistency is by being accountable to others. Money also plays a role. If it's hitting your wallet whether you show up or not. Chances are you're going to be motivated to show up at least every once in a while. May as well go all in. I think another element to being motivated is dipping your toe in the water first. See if the experience seems to bring you some form of joy in your life. Obviously, certain activities may not leave you with a huge dopamine rush. But, did it leave you feeling good about yourself, accomplished in some way. We often advise people to reflect on their date with someone to make sure how the experience/interaction made them feel after the fact. And yet, with general activities, we determine its value based on whether it was hard or easy. Surprise, most things we do for the first time are going to be hard and stay hard for a while. So probably not the best measure of something's value or worth. Getting to the last thing. Don't take on too much at once. As you said, you focused more on your marshal art and less on social media. Sometimes we have to switch up our priorities. Life happens. That's not to say just drop everything and focus on one thing. But, there may be certain activities that take a momentary backseat. I remember reading a book, The Renaissance Soul by Margaret Lobestine. It talks about a person who wants to accomplish multiple things at once. One of the main pieces of advice it gives is, "Don't focus on more than four things." It's so easy to jump from project to project, feeling like we are learning and growing. But, similar to the whole energy concept, we actually are making any true progress anywhere. So keep the enthusiasm. But, as was advised in the video, focus on a main goal or direction. Otherwise, you are just a hamster in an exercise wheel putting in a lot of work but getting nowhere. Better to be the hamster in the ball with the whole world at your paws.😁

Every emotion is energy. Learning how to transmute every one of them puts you ahead of 99.99% of people.

Hey Devin, if you haven't done so already can you give us a video with your solution to multitasking? I work from home and love my work so the first thing I wanna do on waking up is crack on with it. Despite wishing I could, I don't want to trek off to the gym. And if I did it would probably break my work momentum. I'd like to be going to the gym x2 daily, but even if I did I'd probably lose my "work urge." How do I have the same drive for both? Cheerz DECLAN🙂

Sure I'll put it in my notes. However, I will point out that it is unnecessary to workout twice a day unless you are just wanting to. Getting some form of fitness in once a day is more than enough. The gym 3 times a week is the minimum I would recommend, but of course it is up to you. I will try to make a video on that soon!
