Hey Daniel Just watched this green stick trick and you made it super easy to understand the execution. Just to let you know i am following all your videos since past 2 years and trust me you have inspired me to start product videos post my retirement from 9 to 5 Job. Your videos are motivating not just youngsters of your age but also a 50+ man like me as well 😊. Keep it up Dear!!!

An important thing you do and should mention is using a green object to separate the product from the turntable. You can get green gaffer tape to cover objects like a stand or stick or whatever you want to chroma key out. If only FCP and/or Motion would add a form of content-aware fill for video.

Hey man, I've been following you for a while and I love your content. I do vfx for a living so this is right up my alley. The technique that we use to clean a moving or handheld shot is still using a static cleanplate. But we track the moving shot and project the cleanplate on a cg layout of the scene to get the parallax. Or if the movement is not that complex, we 2d track the shot and apply the movement to the cleanplate. This is just to complement your video since your explanation was on point. Cheers

Hey Daniel, I love your videos and want to also create such beautiful videos myself. I have an Sony Alpha 7 iii (8bit unfortunate and I can't effort to upgrade to expensive) I saw you also had one. I am stuck with what picture profile I should use or you used? Is it Slog2 with ITU709-Matrix and HLG3 for LowLight? I hope you see this. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hi Daniel! How do you keep focus on the bowl throughout the movement? Do you use AF? because sometimes the camera is microhunting and that would also effect the clean plate, right?

i feel like you overcomplicated this, maybe this is how it works in the final cut, but in Premier or AE when you apply the key effect you are left with transparency no need for a plate, the only thing you need is to mask the hand.

This might sound silly but how did you remove the black after keying out the stick? Just wondering if masking would’ve ended up with the same result if you have to mask out the black anyway? Awesome stuff either way. Had no clue how to green screen. Haha

Biggest mistake of beginners is 99% of the time the green is WAAAY overexposed. It needs to be only 50 ire. Dark green. Middle line on the the WFM. Camera sensors will desaturate the green past that point degrading your color information and you also will slather the entire scene with needless green spill. 50 IRE or the middle of your Waveform. You're welcome.
@AustenPaul
