As a man who has been cheated on. When it comes out of left field this is a more realistic reaction than yelling and screaming. It's a mix of confusion, betreyal, disbelief, anger, and bitterness. When I found out my voice was calm, but I was absolutely furious. Very similar to this scene. Thank God we weren't married, and had no children together. THAT'S where it really gets ugly.

You wanna know what’s crazy. I was cheated on behind my back for like a month and she had changed this dudes name on snap to her cousins name and gaslighted me the whole time saying I was “too insecure to worry about her cousin” eventually I had to find out on my own (found the real dude on snap) and got the information from him about what they had been doing. Then I freaked out on her because she had caused me to go in a big depression from all the gaslighting and making me think I was actually insecure. When I was yelling and cussing her out she then said “I reacted in the wrong manner and it scared her” and said it was a red flag.

He already had suspicions of her cheating, but they decided to take a vacation to the UK at a cabin, that neither of them booked but thought the other did. It was here that his suspensions of her cheating were confirmed. She leaves for the town but sees a shadowy figure while leaving. Kevin Bacon then gets another written message in his journal telling him he should have left, too. Now, he and his daughter are trapped at the house and can not leave. He calls her to come back, and she does to get their daughter, but he can't leave the house. It turns out that she was his second wife. His first wife died by drowning. He was blamed and charged for it but acquitted. It turns out he didn't kill his first wife but watched her drown and did nothing to help her. And now the devil shall have his way with him.

I remember when my mother and stepfather, who cheated on each other for years, finally ended it. It was my stepfather because my mother and him had finally it seemed to knock it off, grow up and quit doing the stupid nonsense. I remember him telling my wife how he had screwed up over the years, made mistakes. So finally my mother ends up hooked up with a married man, and my stepfather, he didn't yell, didn't scream although they had some real doozies over the years. Nope, he was very quiet and walked out and never came back. Eventually when you get to a point, there's no need to yell, because you're emotionally spent, and that's when it's over.

Have not watched the movie but this scene alone is how I ended my relationship with my last ex, quiet, calm and anger. It's crazy because she was the one who asked me to agree to a committed relationship. But everywhere we go, she purposely try to get attention from other men and I believe it's to get me riled up and confront the men. I remember I got into a physical altercation and I was always angry and yelling when we go out together. It got to the point where I just calmed down and thought about why she was doing all these stuff and if I couldn't change her ways through just talking, then it was not worth being angry and loud anytime she does this. I broke it off when her phone bill (which is under my plan) went off the roof even after 500 minutes free and she had the persons name as her bestfriend's name and I believed her for the longest. But when I actually checked the number, it was not her sister and I called, it was another guy she was talking too behind my back. At that point, I didn't even care and calmly just asked her to leave the house. At that moment I felt nothing at all, all I know is she needed to get away from me. Took her 2 hours of begging and crying and I still felt nothing. I finally got her real bestfriend to pick her up. After it was all over, I felt a sign of relief but also exhausted.

I couldn’t believe it this whole time I thought I had done something wrong but it was her. And when I asked her she lied about it? I reacted calm like this guy cos that hurts them more. How irresponsible can she get? She betrays him and then cannot even be humble enough to at least accept the consequences? Instead, she insists that he gives up even more... what an insane follow-up. He's hurt enough as it is, but she's gonna put him in a position where if he wants to keep living his life and be a parent he would have to confront the cause of that pain again by coming to her? He cannot heal that way, and she cannot focus on mending what she broke unless she is put in the position where it's crystal clear what the consequences feel like. Why should the good one be put in that position? Why should he take anymore punishment while she already took too much of the reward? If anyone's gonna be the main parent, it's gonna be the person who never betrayed. That's pure logic. The moment she acted out the betrayal she should've known that loss of freedom would be the consequence. Just like you know that any crime lands you in jail. You don't get to talk your way out of it. People got seriously hurt. A family breaking apart is traumatizing, especially for the child. Don't try to justify that with your selfishness.

She certainly took that well. Not a bit of shame or regret. Then she actually seems relieved that she doesnt have lie and hide her cheating anylonger. It is so exhausting. I loved it when he said she had to leave. That, along with the statement that she doesnt make the rules anymore. Women hate accountability because they rarely experience it.
