I was gonna order it with 512gb of storage but decided to hold off. I want to see other people test it out. Thins I’d like to know first: 1. Does the cable have to stay with the battery 2. How will it handle ssd storage 3. Will it completely replace my laptop (a big win if it could) 4. Can I open unity editor and visual studio 5. Does it need to be combed to the battery while plugged into the wall, or is it plug and play?

All super solid questions! I'm imagining some sort of dock that you could plug into while at your desk that would provide more storage options and constant power. As far as will it replace your laptop, I'm wondering if we get to the point where the iPad is so powerful that you can pair an AVP to your iPad and have a 60" virtual screen to work off of and never need a laptop or desktop computer

Oh man, the developer side of things on the AVP is going to be super exciting! There's so many incredible things that CAN be done with augmented reality! My only concern is that we'll end up with more apps that are profitable to the developer and less that are useful to the user. For instance, how annoying will pop up ads be in AR?!

The reason I'm interested in the Apple Vision Pro is for the development of cinematic experiences. The Meta Quest is awesome and I have tons of fun with mine, however, has it's graphical and computing limitations that I feel Apple may be offering the beginning of an even more immersive experience overall. Though before hitting order I'll be waiting for your upcoming content to see what is possible once the reviews and deep dives roll in.

I think that's where I'm at mentally as well. What Apple brings to the table in the way of interfaces has been incredible. But what eventually makes an incredible interface indispensable is the ecosystem of apps and connected devices around them. Super stoked to see what's coming!

I preordered and probably for the app called “NextVr” alone. It was amazing in my oculus then it disappeared one day and I noticed a few years later Apple bought the company! Can only imagine what that’s like with 4k resolution per 👁️ ‼️

I've gotta say, I'm not optimistic that you'll keep it! Those are essentially all the reasons that I don't see mass adoption of the AVP happening at this point. This is expensive, but so is other assistive technology for people with disabilities. If this has detection mode in the magnifier (I can’t tell right now because the simulator doesn’t even allow access to the magnifier in visionOS, if it has one you’d find it in the Control Center), which on the iPhone and iPad allows me to have text read in real time, ID how far people are away from me by pointing at them, etc., in addition to magnification and different color schemes for different eye conditions, I may look into it. Supposedly you can blow these apps up as big as you want, right? There is a 16” desktop video magnifier (looks like a PC monitor with a special table used to move print around), and it can read to you? That is $4,000-$5,000. If this can do all that, plus be my GPS, my book reader, and (in time) replace my Mac and (maybe) my iPhone? I’m listening.

Of course!!! I was lucky enough to secure two for launch for my son and I to go pick up on day 1! Why? lol because apple is an amazing company with nothing but amazing products! I learned my lesson the first time when I didn’t buy AirPods because I thought I wouldn’t use them. Now they are always on my keychain and I always have access to them whether I’m on the treadmill at the gym or the docs office waiting room. I have had to replace them 4 times and each time I had a new set in the mail the same day as I CANNOT imagine my life without them. Same with the AirPods Max and iPad. I thought, am I really going to use these… yep every day. I use the max’s much much more than I thought I would actually, I even take them to the gym now even though they advise against it. I just got waterproof replacement ear cups and they’re fine even when I sweat profusely on the stairmaster. I have no doubt in apple ever again. They could release a log of shit with an apple logo on it and charge 10k for it and I’m all in because I KNOW they know what they’re doing. This product is the future and is the new device we were all waiting for… is it a super high price… sure, but you get what you pay for. There is a lot of expensive tech packed in there and if you wanna be the first to try stuff like this, unfortunately you are going to pay for it! It’s not for everyone obviously. Apple is trying to create the demand, everybody has to want this product, before it will succeed. I think they should’ve charged more for it, so it could’ve been exclusively for the wealthy and early adopters.

Mr Manning, while I have long known that harry Anderson and Peter McKinnen were magicians, I never knew you were. I was formerly a childhood PROFESSIONAL magician. I got paid $5 to do a birthday show for my neighbor’s kid when I was 11 years old. I then retired at my peak of fame. But it makes me unquestionably a PROFESSIONAL. I went to Tanner’s Magic jubilee convention in the Catskills about 11 times in a 18 year period. I got private lessons with car legend Frank Garcia. David Copperfield was a Teenage Camp counselor at tanners magic camp. And Doug Henning wrote me back after I sent him a letter when I saw him in “The Magic Show” on broadway. Did you ever go to the Tannen’s convention? What was the first Magic shop & trick you got ? Mine was at Circle Magic (owned by Tannen’s brother) and it was the “cut & restored rope” (of course). I'm curious to see the roadmap on the AVP. I don't think the price will come down over time on the Pro model, but I do think they'll eventually release an SE or just "Apple Vision" model that will be a cheaper entry into the ecosystem with slightly limited features. The Pro model, I bet we'll see stay around that $3,500 mark and they'll just come up with new tags like "30% lighter" or "50% more powerful" than the original

@@DavidManningvlog According to Plamer Luckey, founder of Oculus Rift, pixelation will not go away completely until at least 8K resolution (7680 x 4320) per eye is achieved. Also, if they are having you tether a battery pack, why couldn't they mount all the hardware outside of the headset to make it lighter? BTW, I can't seem to find Apple's recommended exposure time limit, they just say there's no acute eye sight damage if used under current recommended exposure limits 🤔 that could very well be under two hours which makes the vision pro a toy and not a productivity device.
