This was a great tutorial. It's way out of my comfort zone because I usually play more rhythmic style but I should (and will now) learn to venture outside of that easy place I so often find my playing to be in. Thanks for this and for making it so clear.

Yes, do it. We all get 10 Fingers (Normaly), lern use them, you will never ever use a plectrum. LOVE AND MUSIC 4ALL

every person can give its own level on a song .. and you can play it everytime a little more different easyer or more dificult as you prefere.. I like fingerstyle and play without a plectrum and love to surch my way in plucking strumming hammer-ons and so changing it my way to play.. thanks.. And your making it with great sound and voice

I agree. You can play the A7, of course. Em7 is a lovely sound too. If it sounds good play it that way.

Excellent tutorial. Another fun little accent to add is a D note - third fret on the B string - that makes the Em an Em7, after the line "and you need a helping hand", and other similar locations. Wish I could play this as well as you do. I just need to practice, practice, practice...

That was an awesome guitar lesson I used to play drums for the teacher Leroy Wright who taught Zakk Wylde. But since Leroy passed away I've been picking up the guitar a lot lately and learning from wonderful people like you that help me understand some of the stuff Leroy taught me bear in mind I wasn't a guitarist before but I know you're doing it right that's totally awesome and deeply appreciated my friend has since passed away

Excellent lesson ! Maybe one of the most effective, easiest, sounding presentation of this beautiful timeless song! Playing James Taylor as he does is just to complex and requires long fingers kk, and don't have that but still, this is just perfect demonstration of skills and patience, thank you always

Hi, I played F#m to B7 in the introduction. Carol King plays it that way and James Taylor plays it that way. An F#, which would be a major chord at that point, would work. It will make the line sound brighter. The major chord at that place in the chord progression would be a secondary dominant to the B7. Play it that way if you want to Michael. :)
