At that point you are mature enough to appreciate them more than if you grew up watching them as a child with your parents or grandparents. The thing to remember about Slayer. Is that they started in the Los Angeles area in the early 80s at the same time as all the hair metal bands came out .When all them guys in the LA area were wearing Spandex pink jumpsuits wearing makeup and all that stuff. They have interviews online explaining why they didn't want to look like those guys. Being four guys that were influenced by the British wave of heavy metal music and punk rock they did not want to act and be like anybody else so they put that weird Twist on it . They have said repeatedly in interviews over the years explained they're writing music that people will buy. They toured for many years. and are actually considered one of the big four of the thrash metal music scene . you can't be mad at somebody for writing music that these kids will buy. All in all they are very talented musicians. Listen to the speed of the music they're playing, double bass kick drums, depth of the guitar solos. The passing of one of the founding members after nearly thirty years, they actually retired. You really should listen to the song that they have called Angel of Death all about the concentration camps. and then another song called Raining Blood. I loved watching your reactions to the music. I'm a Metalhead from the 80s but love all music. I follow Your Channel but what you said about God bless their souls they probably need it. If Heaven's North what is South.

That's Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King my friend... two of the best guitarists to ever grace rock and roll. What makes them so unique is they could play together with PERFECT synchronization... as though they were one guitarist... however, they had their own styles so their solos would all sound different from each other when they played individual solos. What will help you distinguish who is who, is on their older albums, it would specify who was playing the solo (on the insert) at each part.

I feel ya. Glad you liked it. I'm a metal guy my whole life, but felt the EXACT same way when I heard Public Enemy and Ice-T for the first time back in the 80's Slayer's has a song called Jihad. Pretty brutal if you wanna try it.

If you've never seen "Slayer goes to church" I'd recommend checking that out. It is an internet gem from back in the day.
