We got 13 plus inches of snow with wind gust of 70 mph. they called off school till wed. telling us that it may take the rest of the week to clean the roads so that the school children that live in the country can get to school and people can get to the store. how ever the snow is awesome it brings much needed moisture. You two say you have nothing to talk about, but you sure can keep it going and have so much fun doing it! Love all the stories! What made me laugh and cry was Dee Dee! OMGoodness, I could only imagine her hanging on the garage door and going up dangling there!🤣🤣🤣 It brought up an old memory of my garage door in a house I rented. If you pulled on it too hard it flew up, well one day my mother and I came to my house and she got out to open the garage door, she pulled hard and went up dangling from the handle. We laughed until our sides hurt. Well your story of Dee Dee got me to laughing like Jason! Again, thanks for the love and laughter! Blessings to you all! From California!🤗💖

I laughed just as hard as Jason, now my stomach hurts, too, hehe. & thanks to Jason I still have "I go out walking..." song stuck in my head. Brooke, I'm so sorry about your nurse, I think about you all the time. My autoimmune disease is called Saricoidosis. I had 6 years of chemo, off chemo 4 yrs this month! Brooke, you are the one that helped me I think it was when i got my flu shot 10 yrs ago, they did it too high on my left arm/shoulder. It was so painful, I got a huge red bruise, bigger than a silver dollar & the center lump never went away. I still have a dime size welt there just under the skin. No matter what I did, that lump always made me feel sad. Then one time you were talking about the goats & how they can get a permanent welt just like me. That totally changed the way I thought about it. Instead of being an awful reminder of the nurse's poor service... Because of you, I decided that my Goat Welt will now be my own sweet reminder of being on the Cog Squad. Love you all so much. hUgz from Ohio, Lee

Jason and Brooke, I live in Cincinnati, Ohio. We had really bad winds and rain yesterday. Today we are supposed to to have ice or snow mix. Who knows? I am keeping Florida in my prayers because of the tornadoes in Panama City area. I am 69 years old and I am very afraid of tornadoes. I have lost a great uncle in a tornado and he was found out in his field. My 2 great aunts were wrapped barbed wire and one was flown into Cincinnati for treatment. It was all the way to the bone on her thigh. They healed up and have since passed away. It happened back in the 70’s. Stay safe.

Omgosh, that was one of the funniest lives I've ever seen! 🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️ Brooke, I can sympathize with you on the vein hunting technician. I couldn't even give blood for years because nobody could find my veins. Finally, a technician found one and told me to always have people use the one that goes diagonal in my arm... problem solved! I've had several bad experiences with bad or inexperienced technicians trying to get blood. I've learned the hard way that they get two chances and that's it. After that, they need to call someone else in.

I can relate to Brooke when someone can't hit a vein and starts digging. A nurse tried on me and couldn't find a vein. I did my own IV. I'm a nurse and not only the one staff calls when they have a tough stick, but I also taught an IV class and let the students practice on me. So doing my own stick was the way to go.

A friend of mine, who was being treated for cancer, was always having problems when they would try to get a vein. He was advised to drink a glass of wine the night before they would need a vein. I have always been a "hard stick" when they try and hit my vein. I have been using a trick recently because I was experimenting to see if anything would help. I had tried drinking water (never tried wine & don't usually have alcohol of any type in the house, just have an occasional drink but usually when out with friends) and about everything else I had heard of. I thought about it and thought back to my schooling (degree in wildlife biology). Animals in hotter climates need to cool down more than those in cooler climates. I thought about kit foxes. They have ears much larger than other foxes so they have more surface area that increases the amount of blood that can dissipate heat by transferring the heat from the blood to the air. Thinking about this, I thought that maybe if my arm or hand (usual point of attack) was warmer the veins would come to the surface to help it cool off. I took my heating pad to the next appointment for a blood draw since I have them fairly regularly. When I sat down, I asked the tech to give me a few minutes to heat my arm up. She was willing to try because she knew I was a difficult stick. She helped me plug my heating pad in and wrap my arm and hand up in it. She left for about 5 to 10 minutes. When she came back, I warned her to get ready before we removed the heat because the room was very cold and the veins would probably disappear quickly. She lifted the pad up to see and immediately put it back in place until she set everything out and was ready to stick the vein. Then we removed the heating pad. The veins were all popped up and real easy to find. She hit it first try and the flow was very free (often after a few seconds my veins would quit giving blood). It bled so well that when she pulled the needle out some blood dripped from the needle because the tubing was so full. We having been doing blood draws this way ever since and it has never failed. Sorry for the long post, but I saw a post somewhere that asked why someone else's suggestion worked so I thought I would give the theory behind this way. I hope this helps someone who needs help.
