No that is not a stadium @41:35, it is the Tafawa Balewa Square, shortened as TBS and located in the centre of Lagos island. It was initially used as a horse racing ground back then during Colonial era, called Lagos Race Course. This current edifice was constructed by the General Yakubu Gowon administration in 1972 and named after Nigeria's first Prime Minister, Sir Tafawa Balewa, who was murdered during the January 1966 coup d'état. It is also where Princess Alexandra representing the Queen, handed over Nigeria's constitution to Prime Minister, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa on October 1st, 1960 to proclaim our independence. The British Union Jack🇬🇧 was lowered for the last time and the green-white-green flag🇳🇬 of the Federation of Nigeria was hoisted for the first time on that ground, signifying Nigeria's attainment of political independence. There is also a Cricket pitch behind the complex. Kenyan🇰🇪 team do take on the Nigerian National cricket team on that ground. Then Opposite the TBS is the National Assembly Complex now an Annex, when Lagos was the Capital of Nigeria until December 1991, before it was moved to Abuja. Thank you for this great video and well done👏🏽

Fun fact, a foreigner CANNOT OWN a property in Nigeria 🇳🇬, The Land Use Act of Nigeria prohibits this. Alternatively foreigners or aliens can acquire land or property through leasehold (rent), that is whatever they own is leased / rented from the Nigerian government. Only a Nigerian is allowed a freehold on lands or property. Everything property, companies etc are owned by Nigerians and that is why we are different from other African countries. The wealth of Nigeria is solely in the hands of Nigerians NOT foreigners. We thank God the Nigerian government got that right ☺️. Update: For those who are arguing, read what I wrote slowly for understanding and then process it, the legal terms I used seems to be the problem here. The ALAL has restrictions to aliens owning property and it’s subject to the “land use act of 1978” under section 1. I can’t write much it’s lengthy but anybody who wants to acquire land in Nigeria GET A LAWYER to help ☺️.

Hi ! Shorn you look so beautiful in that lovely dress. You Kenyans are blessed with flawless skin. I think it depends on the type of food you eat. Shorn , we in Jamaica eat roast corn with coconut. We also have alot of people who are of Igbo tribe. There is a place in St.Ann Jamaica , by the name of Aboukar. I think you have a place in Nigeria by that name too. My grandma in the countryside of St.Ann always have a water jar like the ones , you saw in the museum, some of the other items. I enjoy you showcasing Nigeria culture. Jamaica is a diverse culture, with descendants from different West African cultures. Its so nice to how big Nigeria is.,, and the different echnic groups. It has the largest population in Africa, and the most educated people. Keep exploring and enjoy the beauty of West Africa. You need to visit all of West Africa, and you will see the different culture, and a little of everything Jamaica in them. Keep Up The Good Work. Blessings.

Tafewa Balewa Square is a ceremonial ground for many events in Lagos. When Lagos was still the capital city, it held the ceremony for Nigeria's independence. It was also used for horse racing, hence why you see the horses on the entrance. It is also used for some other sports like cricket. But like a lot of colonial/old structures in Lagos, this too is also not maintained well.
