It's good to see the parents are encouraging their kids to gravitate towards music. It's a shame that the schools want to cut a lot of their music curriculum. Not all kids have encouraging parents at home who want to see them succeed. Music is a way for them to get out of that situation and toward a positive direction..

Thank you for such a wonderful comment. When I was in school living in the North during the 80’s, a teacher told my class that we have no culture here because our ancestors all came from somewhere else. Now as I think of it, I always heard Blue Grass exists nowhere else! I live in the South now and I see our culture. The Northerners I grew up around generally chase after money and possessions, while Southerners on a greater scale choose to make more spiritual aspects of life be the focus of their family.
@Hialeah1925

@@TheBATSnape Such idiocy. So... Cubans don't have a culture? Dominicans, Brazilians, Argentinians, they don't have one either? Everyone is from somewhere else. Even the "Native Americans" are from Asia. And... let there exist no doubt that had the "natives" possessed the technology and know-how of the Europeans they would have conquered and enslaved the Europeans like they were already doing to themselves for millennia. People are people. Every culture has its bad and its good. There are winners and there are losers. Culture can be created, or lost, in just one generation. We're seeing this with our youth today, as a product of the deliberate and incessant drive by the left's propaganda arms in Academia, Hollywood, the music industry, and the news media. I am now a huge fan of country rap, and its leaders such as Ryan Upchurch. They are unapologetically proud of their heritage and are not bending and cowering to the the pressure from the politically correct overloads in the record label business. The rebel and independent spirt of Southern culture has been, and still is, admired worldwide. But it is an endangered way of life.

We're still talking about kids, right? Last I checked, kids still have a lot of growing, a lot of learning yet to do. I get what you're saying, but the hyperbole is unnecessary. There are lots of nice kids, these are some of them. Learning Bluegrass music doesn't make one better, just different. And lest we forget, most of the "overpaid, half-dressed no-talents" you berate are young, too, still children relatively speaking. God called us to love *all* not some, and these people, however misguided are doing the best that they can do same as these kids, Bluegrass aside. Life is a journey we're *all* in together. Estimating the journey of some as "better" simply because something they do gratifies an interest or concern of yours does not make their journey more worthy, just different.

@@EldritchSleepMachine it makes it more worthy, because of the effort behind something. If you say an architect is just simply different from a simple mason, but ultimately all the same, then why not also equal their pay ?! It would be lunacy to advocate that and it's all the same if you do not recognize the achievement of these children. If you're religious then don't try and spread that in the comment section of a good natured music clip man. I get wanting to believe there's something after death, but keep it to yourself will ya ? If they’re an actual band, looks like a large family to me. And the fact is with musical instruments is that once you master one, you will get bored and learn another, buy another, for the rest of your life. I play about 35 instruments now, but I have 3 favourites. Bass guitar, Hammond B/C3 and the Tuba. I love making a place rumble. My church got EVERYONE who ever played there in the past 30 years together, and we packed the stage with over 60 people. We blew the windows out. I have never heard anything so loud in my life than standing in that group and just making a cacophony.

Eh, I LOVE this, and those kids are just infinitely talented. It’s amazing to watch & hear…..I harbor a secret obsession with folk music from the early sixties - lyrics that tell a story, that make you feel less alone - Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, James Taylor, Pete Seeger, Odetta, Phil Oches, Nanci Griffith (She’s my ABSOLUTE favorite of all the artists I secretly adore….and she passed away last week. It crushed my family. We grew up with her words) As much as I love that stuff & those musicians, I also love Pink (OMG, she’s incredible!) ZZ Ward, Sara Bareilles, Taylor Swift, Lady GaGa, Adele, Florence & the Machine, The Dixie Chicks, Eminem, Mumford & Sons, Rihanna….there’s too much amazing music to list it all. But there’s always room for talent to impress us without having to replace one thing with another. We can have it all! ❤️
