@@shantishanti1949 Using vitamin D can also cause low magnesium. We do not know if he was already low magnesium. My point is not necessarily that either K2 or D3 did this to him, but if you supplement K2 and/or D3, particularly with some of the ridiculously high doses that some people use, then you should consider if your magnesium levels are okay. This particular person from Reddit did not appear to be taking what I would normally be considered a high dose, at D3 5,000 IU and K2 90ug it looks like a good dose, so it might well have been coincidence that a sub-clinical condition happened the same day. Many people have low magnesium and I personally once had low magnesium which caused a heart issue, despite my serum magnesium being within range after the event. In my case, that didn't happen slowly, it happened within a day (a few hours) due to a set of unfortunate circumstances and not related to K2 or D3. Taking magnesium fixed it.

@@peequod I take 20,000 IU’s of D3 a day and 400 mcg of K2. I had dropped my calcium to 650 mg for about a month but then the endocrinologist (…who was afraid I would turn my kidneys to stone with the D3) decried my lower calcium supplement, so I went back to 1300 mg a day. I get a lot of calcium from my diet, too, because I eat an athletic high-protein diet. I have a pretty low heart-calcium score - - ‘17’. When I can get another heart-calcium score in a couple of years, I will be interested to see if it has improved on account of my K2 supplement. I’ve heard of pretty remarkable anecdotal improvements after K2. Since I was getting into summer, and I run in the sun for an hour a day in the sun, I thought I could easily drop my D3 by 4,000 IUs. In just a few days of ramping down, my knees were crippled (I have life-long psoriatic arthritis) and I got a really sharp pain around the sinus cavity where the sympathetic nerve passes through the front of the jaw (…I broke every bone in my face, twice, so had extensive surgery over five years to rebuild same). That really surprised me but I ramped my dose back up to where it was and the pain all passed in a few days. I’m on methimazole for Graves Disease so my blood chemistry is monitored every couple of weeks. Interesting observation about the cessation of tooth sensitivity: My upper incisor was shattered during my original trauma. The surgeon tried to save it but it showed signs of infection within about three months so it had to be root-canaled. Five years later, I went to my dentist to see if the tooth needed any work before another procedure. It was bad enough that she didn’t want to try to fool with it but, to be thorough, she x-rayed it. She realized there was a condition known as ‘internal resorption’. Essentially, the tooth-hulk is getting de-mineralized from the inside (…and it can happen to ‘live’ teeth as well). The cause is unknown, in general, but I hypothesize that my body was scavenging minerals and calcium in particular from that ‘dead’ tooth because of all my injuries and because of my marginalized diet (…I was wired shut most of the time). It looked like I would only get another year or so out of that root-canaled upper incisor. A week later, a big chunk of the surface just spalled off. So I had to go ahead and get it removed and replaced with an implant post. I’m due to go back to the surgeon in a week so he can passed off on the result. Then I will go back to my dentist and have a crown made. Then I have to go back to the orthodontist to have an updated retainer made. Ughh! Will it ever end??? …I should be pretty well done but the time I get that crown - - you’ll be able to stick a fork in me!

@Brandon Young Hi Brandon, yeah, that's a lot next to what most people take, and most recommendations. Last night, I was privileged to be able to listen to an interview of Dr. Kate done by Dr Mercola. It was very, very informative. Dr. Kate gave some updated recommendations for her book "K2 and the Calcium Paradox." her dose recommendations have changed substantially. Dosage is 100mcg of K2-MK7/ 1000i.u. of D3. I only listened to the interview once, but I'm pretty sure this is correct. And if it's wrong, it doesn't matter. K2-MK7 is not toxic, as its job is to activate two proteins. And if there are no proteins, there are no issues with it. There are other benefits of it, and that's dental benefits that I just learned from a dentist that said K2-MK7 kills 95% of the bad bacteria in the mouth. If a person has enough K2-MK7, you don't get bad breath and very little tartar on your teeth, and of course, your gums become tough as leather and teeth like steel as mine have. Dental issues are taken very seriously by Dr. Thomas Levy as without it, reversing heart disease is unlikely. As he says, if you have dental toxicity, vitamin C gets all used up fighting it. The dental issues can even be asymptomatic, not even feeling bad root canals or implants. I have both. Levy says nearly all root canals and implants are infected. I have a hard time with the thought of removing them. So with K2-MK7 in the amount I take I'll continue besides I'm beating my heart disease. Do you know someone personally close to you beating it? Dr Kate says her recommendation for vitamin A in use with K2-MK7 and D3 is 1500 mcg of vitamin A to 5000i.u. of D3. I like to say it's working for me. I'm 67 and working hard at.

Most doctors prescribe D2 and not D3. Taking 60k IU of D2 (particularly in one dose) is not the same as taking the same amount of D3. The bioavailability of D2 appears to be significantly less than D3 and not as long lasting. I do not recommend anyone tries taking 60,000 IU of D3 in a single dose. For me, I found 2,000 IU of D3 most days (I skip days) is able to keep me fractionally above the top of the average serum range for 25-hydroxy vitamin D.

@Yuri R. Overweight/obese people need to be careful if they are losing weight. The fat stores vitamin D, so when they lose weight the vitamin D is released, but that does depend on whether they were vitamin D deficient when they increased their fat. Patients need Thiamine, for some we find Benfotiamine is better as it is fat soluble and crosses the Blood Brain Barrier. There is problems with this patients compaining about Heart Palpitations and MK-7 Yes, for a very small number of people they can experience Palpitations and Ectopic Beats, but to say it is the Vitamin D causing it is ludicrous. Until this youtuber is a Medical Doctor he has absolutely no idea what he is talking about. We have patients on 10,000-30,000iu D3 or if D3 conversion via the Liver is not happening they are prescribed the drug Rocaltrol, the active ingredient of Vitamin D minus Hepatic Conversion. The most likely problem is the Potassium, too low, and remember Calcium is excitatory to muscles. 90mcg is low dose, there are patients being given 180-270mcg daily. A number of patients taking high dose Vitamin D2 or D3 had blood calcium above 10.4 or higher. When they were given only 90mcg of K2 either MK-4 Or MK-7 we saw their Blood Calcium drop after 3-4 months down to approximate 9-9.3 which was good. Vitamin D3 is essential at regulating Immune Response, keeping the Cytokine Storms at bay or stopping them all together. During the 19 Pandemic patients who fared the very worst had the lowest levels of Vitamin D, and Researchers learned quickly that correcting the D deficiency had a direct effect on mortality rates. The higher the D the lower ICU rates, lower Intubation, and there was far less ARDS. It is correct that Vitamin D uses alot of Magnesium, but patients can fix that issue by supplements of Chelated Magnesium each time they take their D supplements. Also if you have a low grade infection in your body, your Vitamin D levels will drop quickly. It is recommended by too Researchers that if patients are taking Vitamin D2 or D3 or activated forms of Calcitriol, they take K2 because it is a fact that D raises Serum Cacium levels, and K2 routes the Calcium from the blood and soft tissues like the Kidneys to the bones. The last thing anybody ever wants is unchecked Hypercalcemia. We heard very little about the man who complained of K2 what he was doing before taking it, and the man doing this video is clearly unaware of facts clearly pertinent to the positives of both high dose D and K2

I heard about this. Been taking Jarrow’s K right for about 6 months now with no problems. It’s got K1, D3 and both mk7 and mk4 of K2. But I also take magnesium, Jarrow’s zinc balance that has copper to balance the zinc, boron and I make sure I get plenty of the other electrolytes. It’s all about balance with all these supplements. Lol and as I typed that you said the same thing in the video. I had a bad micronutrient deficiency problem due to being on methadone for opiate addiction for 17 years. I eat healthy now and take a lot of supplements. It’s all helped a lot. I’ve lost 25 pounds with very minimal exercise. Mainly a change in diet and supplements. But the weight loss has slowed down. So I’m hitting the gym now.

Thanks for summarizing and stretching the topic. In terms of the Vit-D dosis. Would you agree that it is not the dosis rather the target level of Vit-D in the blood? Each one of us has a different metabolism. Lets say one is opting for 50 ng/mL. So, what's the dosis? Well, it depends. First it needs a fill-up phase and then to continue with the plateau period. The metabolism is depending on e.g. height, weight and some other things. If somone has an inflammatory desease or other illness the metabolism isn't great. Weighty people store lots of Vit-D. So it all starts with the laboratory. Once knowing the start value one can 'calculate' the dosis. Therefore a daily intake of 5.000 IE can be low or high - depending on the state. Please concider this when commenting the pure dosis.

K2 is a critical supplement for your body. This issue he had is rare. I take 10,000 IU of D3 and at least 90mcg of K2 every day. 5000 IU is not a high dose if vitamin D3. Your body will synthesize 10,000 IU's from being in the sun for an hour (bathing suite on) and doctors will prescribe a 50,000 IU D3 prescription supplement for those low in D3. MK7 is better than MK4. The recommended levels of vitamin D is way to low.

@@DutchmanAmsterdam My research led me to believe, and i still do, that MK7 is better, usually a natural form of K2, where MK4 is synthetic. Yes, an electrolyte imbalance was probably the issue. Taking that much D3, he should not need to take any calcium. In fact, taking calcium with that much D3 may cause him a problem. He was probably low on Magnesium or Potassium (or both). Low potassium can cause brain fog (solely speaking from personal experience) and low potassium is fairly common. As the chart in the video showed, potassium needs to be measured as its level in the cells, not in the blood. The kidneys, if they're working correctly, will keep the blood level of potassium at the correct level, as long as you don't overwhelm them by taking too much potassium at one time. Taking too much potassium at one time, causing a significant increase in blood potassium, can cause heart problems.

@@alrivers2297 Agree. As per Dr Berg, you need about twice as much as your sodium intake. Potassium needs to be matched to your salt intake. Many people who are sensitive to normal salt intake levels, need to increase Potassium rather than reduce salt. Also I suspect, everyone needs to stop the huge carbohydrate & sugar diet overload of the SAD diet, for these systems and mineral balances to work correctly. The SAD diet's continuous extreme blood sugar volumes does for instance, cause a deficiency in VitC, so requiring much higher VitC supplementation levels. People on a long term Carnivore diet do very well on the very small amounts of VitC in the meat, without ever requiring additional supplementation. I've had the same with certain supplements because they changed the ingredients and included things I'm allergic to. It caused the usual irregular heartbeats (ectopics + AF), low BP, brain fog, lethargy, etc. The heart has H2 receptors that can be activated by histamine. Too much histamine released from mast cells in one go, and they will saturate the H2 receptors in the heart, causing inotropic and chronotropic disturbances. EDIT: For some unknown reason, not many doctors seem to know about immune-mediated irregular heartbeats. It's well known and documented. Tonnes of papers on it.

In that case we can assume any imbalance between those four would create some change in the muscles’ working order. Sometimes magnesium supplement gives me a little palp. too. With this guy, I think it was calcium being disturbed…I hope there is another way beside K2 to get the calcium gently displaced. I also theorize that the D should be strictly dosed at a right RD ..no excess and then, consequently, a lower or 0 K2 RD. I started to believe Vit D will have to have a cut off level ( maybe FDA is right on the 600.. or even less) so to relegate K2 to food source - only vit. status. The D- calcium situation looks like a silent long term problem. Why create a problem and then try to solve it with some K2, which might create new problems like for this young man? Conclusion: inordinate doses of D might be risky in the long run. D sufficiency is like a medication to treat your deficiency ..just get it and let the body takes care of itself; you don’t want to overdo medication, right? Plus I don’t believe oncle Sun is there to give you D toxicity or hypercalcemia.

About halfway through dosing that level of D3, I was actually feeling more perfect than ever, at some points. That's when I should've stopped D supplementation. (And since it accumulates in your body, maybe I even would've started feeling bad eventually after the perfection, since that would've been my D levels coincidentally hitting that sweet spot at that moment in time.) Then just the other day, I started feeling extreme symptoms (everything related to "D toxicity" except for excessive urination), on top of my Crohn's flaring which is already bad. Took (some Bentyl and) 40mg prednisone for work the next day, and it didn't even help nearly as much as what amount of K2 I realized I needed. I took 100mcg K2 after work in the early night (also a steak was had when getting home early evening, which has K2 in it I guess?, felt sort of better), and felt quite better after some time passed. Vitamin D3 supplements basically deplete all the K2 in your body if not also taking K2, so I was beginning to have all of my K2 depleted that resulted in these symptoms. In a way of looking at it, there is no such thing as D3 toxicity. It's when it overpowers the amount of K2 in your body where you get K2 deficiency. Obviously, there is a point in one's diet where getting something like say 200ng/mL D3 (actually 100ng/mL is basically getting dangerous for many individuals) is always going to steal all of your K2. There is definitely a toxic LEVEL of D3, when put it this way; but the symptoms appear because the D3 is depleting all of your K2, no matter how much K2 you supplement. There's probably more to this, but this is just my journey. Some people get K2 deficiency from taking 40,000 IU for a week---maybe even with proper K2 supplementation---whereas others can take it for months daily before having symptoms. It's really about looking at your overall health. In my case, I can't even really have caffeine, because my Crohn's REALLY doesn't like it, and makes me flare during caffeine withdrawals. So I hypothesize: what if, in my case, it is 50ng/mL of D3 that causes the K2 deficiency? Because my kidneys are just that weak as to not be able to handle caffeine, and by extension kidneys not able to handle the slightest amount of too much calcification brought about by lowered K2 levels? People with stronger kidneys might go to 105ng/mL before showing symptoms. I think this accounts for the big range that doctors caution people about, which is why you see caution in some of their numbers NOT to go too far above 50 or 60 ng/mL, even though some health "gurus" (and their lackeys) will make the 100ng/mL look appealing. Anyway, I really will stop D3 now, and not take any more until blood-work tested again, which hopefully happens sooner than later, in case for some reason I get low in D3 again (considering my body is pretty abnormal with the Crohn's and inflammation and medications, which could deplete my levels faster than most). I started writing this with wanting to convey a point that I heard there is no toxic level of vitamin K2 that's possible. This video makes me question that seemingly universal claim whenever asking Google about it. Turns out, I wrote about everything except for this. I wonder what the truth is.

I've been seeing where the k2 is recommended but not so much the D3. For similar reasons as you stated. I'm deficienct and take 5000 iu but I'm going to work on a few minutes of sun or using a sun lamp and not take anymore D3 once I'm done with my bottle. The D is a hormone and for that alone I don't think it's good for long term use. We can easily create an imbalance or issue. The Root Cause Protocol flat out says it shouldn't be consumed at all. That it's a toxin. Then goes on to explain why and give resources to validate claims. You can download it for free online. Just do a keyword search for The Root Cause Protocol. If you can't find it, I should have a copy saved in my Adobe and can post link. Just lmk. I haven't finished reading it. In fact, it was a while back that I downloaded it and had forgot about it until just now. It gives a lot of great info on how to heal our imbalances and why they exist to begin with.

Seems like a pretty bizarre situation. Like you say, "I think something else must be going on." His body / blood chemistry must be way out of whack for minor supplementation like this to cause that big / kind of reaction.

Where can you find out how much of these supplements you should take together? I take quite a few supplements and have had arrhythmia situations which have been checked out but nothing found. I'm 75 now and have been supplementing for many years. Not really sure about how to synchronize what I am taking. Confused!

I'm 68 and take quite a few supplements myself. I just learned that fish oil or Omega3 can trigger A-fib. Europe is considering a warning label for this. I was on 4 grams/day I have backed off to 2 grams/ day. Alcohol 🍸 will trigger mine as well. OTC meds like a nasal decongestant will trigger it. My first experience I was in A-fib for a week, not real severe but concerning. Then I saw my cardiologist and was put on Metropolol 25mg. I've been on it for a year and now have reduced it to 12.5mg with no issues so far. If I can go a year with no issues, I'll discontinue the Metropolol but have it on hand. I'm on the Linus Pauling Heart Protocol, reversing my heart disease successfully with high dose vitamin C, Lysine, and Proline. As verified by CAC. Also, use K2-MK7 and D3. Be sure to use these in proper dosing. 100mcg per 1000i.u of D3. Some people have reported A-fib with K2-MK7, but I have no issues with 2400mcg and 5000i.u of D3. I also use 800mg of magnesium glycinate no issues, but too much can put people in A-fib, I have been told. My reference for K2-MK7 is Dr. Kate Rheaume-Bleue, author of "K2 and the Calcium Paradox" Her current recommendation is not in the book. But you can watch a utube interview of her by Dr Mercola excellent!

Could taking a supplement at a reasonable dose cause such severe symptoms in just a few days? If you had diarrhoea or ate a really salty Chinese take away it could surely shift your electrolytes around more than this… We always recover after a day or two.

With supplements you risks are quality and quantity. What you really need is to eat right and be physically active while staying off alcohol and drugs. Alcohol free beers have improved a lot and have the right PH level.

I never go out in the sun - too busy in my workshop, so take 8,000 IU's of vitamin D3 and 200mcg of vitamin K2 mk7 every day and the same thing happened to me with continues horrendous ectopic heartbeats lasting hours where I called the emergency services and had a hloter monitor fitted while experiencing bigeminy beats for over half an hour a hour but was just given beater blockers. However, I soon realised there was a unbalance in Potassium ans Sodium, so started using table salt and starting taking Potassium tablets - i already take Magnesium and the symptom ended almost immediately thankfully.

Mg is essential in the metabolism of vitamin D, and taking large doses of vitamin D can induce severe depletion of Mg. Adequate magnesium supplementation should be considered as an important aspect of vitamin D therap

I've been taking 4000iu of D3 for many years. I also take magnesium to counter the loss caused by the D3 Vit K2. It is extremely important to take a good quality magnesium, preferably a marine sourced mg (I also take other supplements that aren't relevant to this discussion). I'm 77 years old and never get colds or flu. I haven't had Covid. During my working life, self employed - a mixture of labour and desk work, for over 30 years I never had one day sick leave from illness.

BS😂It's not his dose of vitD and k2 that is the problem.. I take 6000-7000 ui vitamin D and 140 ug k2 MK7 every single day, and I know people who take even more, like 8000-10000 ui winter season.

optimal D3 is 100IU per 1KG of body weight per day. So weight yourself in Kg (not pounds) and multiply by 100 and thats your daily recommended optimal d3 dosage. Also any d3 dosage above 5000IU needs to be taken with K2-MK. I am 87kg and taking 9000IU plus 250mcg K2-Mk7 per day. Try to get the purest form without any additives

I seen this with people taking too much calcium. So it probably was the D3 freeing too much calcium. How much D were you taking?
