Mickey Rooney was in that show to make up for turning down the role of Archie Bunker as it had former *All in the Family* producers on it. He guessed which one of his co-stars was Gay incorrectly. I grew up within a quarter mile of where Mike Myers did and there was a Wishing Well Plaza very close by. It was your typical strip mall with variety stores, pharmacy, hardware, etc. In the Wayne’s world movie, the shopping mall they visited was the Wishing Well Mall. And, when I attended Sir John A MacDonald high school, the one Mike attended around ten years after I did, we used to use the “Way” and “No Way” phrases quite a lot. Also, the basement scene where SNL sketches of Wayne’s world took place was almost identical to the basement layout of the townhouse that Mike lived in while he attended high school in Scarborough.

My father and his brother owned The Wishing Well (Smoke and Gift Shop) variety store in the south-west corner plaza in the 60s and 70s. I helped work in there all the time as a kid and after I heard later that Mike grew up in the area, I always wondered if I met him coming into the store back then. I never knew the name of the mall in the movie was called Wishing Well. I think that you have probably answered my question about me seeing him in my dad's store. i may have seen you in there a few times too lol.
@James-ol6rw

@@k_DAN thanks for responding. I lived at Huntingwood and pharmacy when I attended high school at MacDonald high. When an adult, I lived in a house on Pharmacy two doors south of your store. I’m sure we have at least been in your dad’s store, as I frequently visited his store to get various things. In case you didn’t know, Mike Myers lived in the townhouse complex on pharmacy at Sheppard across the street from your dads store( behind the high rise apartment building) on the north east corner of the pharmacy/sheppard intersection. Do you remember the townhouse buildings there? I am currently living the retired life in sunny Florida having moved here permanently in 1992. I attended Wishing Well Acres Baptist Church just east of the Wishing Well Plaza. You may remember the church. Also, did you know that Jim Carry lived and worked at the Magnum wheel manufacturing plant out in Markham where Hwy. 401 and I think Markham road meet. There was an old farmhouse that his family rented on the same property as the factory, and his dad and mom did nightly office cleaning, and Jim helped them with their night work. Jim attended Agincourt High over in Agincourt, east of your store. Thought you might be interested in this little tidbit of nostalgia. Bravo Toronto Canada for creating so many comedic geniuses!

@@James-ol6rw I was going to ask you if you knew exactly where Mike Myers lived so thanks for telling me.
