The transformation is unbelievable, I'm married to a Morrocan and 10 years ago wen I first went I was so bored not being able ro talk to anyone other than my lovely wife of course in English because everybody was like ;; No French? Non, Non, Silv Vous Plais ?? !!, Monsiure "" and there was no Sign of anybody knowing nor interested in English. Whenever someone found out I was a foreigner they automatically used French and used to be surprised that I come from a European country and don't know how to conversate in French, then almost 2nd they would try Spanish. They used to be equally surprised I spoke English and treated it like an Alien language, They were alien to it and thought of it as inferior to French and almost always disappointed that I couldn't speak nor understand French, some used to be baffled that an Educated guy can Not speak French, or the 2nd tier would be Spanish, they really showed their disappointment. (Because Moroccan are super friendly to foreigners and traditionally kind hearted with generosity and welcoming as a bedrock of their treatment to strangers. So they really wanted to get to know me and conversate with me I could tell, but they couldn't understand why I don't know French or Spanish) With the exception of Casa,,, that for whenever I visited Casablanca; I used to be pleasantly surprised that people understood English in Morocco. I was in Meknes city mostly and visited the Capital Rabat, also regularly Fez, also went to Tangiers, Chefchaun; the Blue Mountain side town, even the streets are blue, Casablanca used to be the only place in Morocco that I visited in them days, where people would frequently speak English to me, that there was a sizeable appreciation for English and people spoke and understood it. Now the transformation is absolutely amazing during the last 5 years increasingly I have noticed almost everybody tries to Speak or understand English and appreciates it where now wherever someone finds out u are a foreigner they straight away converse in English and Majority of youngsters can speak it or are definitely interested in learning speaking it. It's amazing I think how things have changed. The impressions people have of others speaking a different language than the one they are accustomed to and they hold to esteem and the varying degrees of respect and appreciation for one foreign language over another. Th North African countries have been colonized by France and so the colonial lingua Franco had a deep impression on the people, then the world changes and a new generation realizes and catches on to trends and transformation of methods of communication in such a short amount of time

This video is very misleading. You go to an area where there is "night life" and you title the video "Young Moroccans Are Changing Their Country!". It's like me traveling to Sweden, a country which is extremely secular with a ton of atheists and atheism being the norm, going to a local Church with some young people and making a video titled "Young Swedes Are Changing Their Country!", it doesn't follow. The average Moroccan, be it a man or woman, don't really engage in this type of lifestyle, a lot of the people you just met from those areas are just tourists like yourself, hipsters, and westernised people coming from privileged backgrounds.

Nice! But I have the impression you think people are naive when you’re addressing them . They sound naive because english is their 3rd language …sometimes 4th for those who speak amazigh (Berber) …but themselves, they think people are naive when they come to North America …but that’s another story 😉 culture is a fascinating thing …

Marruecos existe poco racismo. Existen distinta gente.
