It would be super helpful if you could do a video, even a short one, about how your 2018-2019 curriculum plans played out over the school year. I love that video but it felt like a “here’s what we’re planning to do” and I’d love to see the post-game coverage on that. 😅🥰☺️

Exactly! There are plenty of us here to support you 😊 There will be struggles, but you will get through them. There would be struggles even if someone else educated your children. That’s just how it is. But homeschooling is so rewarding! You will be so proud of each accomplishment you and your children achieve.

I just got you in my feed, so I thought "Hey I'll check her out." I have watched some newer ones (the Gather Round ones) and when I saw this to listen to as I clean, I thought it was a good way to learn more about you... First, you sound similar in some ways, and opposite in some (it's all good, though- We all have different gifts to help one another.) God made us to be unique and be a blessing to others. I can be a messy person...and it creates craziness and then IT MUST BE CLEANED! There is a difference between messy and dirty, remember that, and give yourself grace if it's just a messy problem. Life happens. Kids, although they are a blessing from God, well, I've never met one who is naturally clean. I have 3 that are mine and 2 older ones (who are now married with children) that my husband and I had custody of. My husband and I are 9 years apart. I had a hysterectomy, and I was not ready to relinquish the privilege of having children. I love children and I wanted to have more, I never thought of the possibility of God still granting more after a hysterectomy. Your faith points to an Almighty God - 😊! I heard a missionary tell how they do not say they are Christians, because of the area, they believe that Christian people are what's in Hollywood movies (not Christian movies, but a regular old movie put out by Hollywood 😣) so they say "We are followers of Jesus Christ." We don't want to be lumped in with a wrong perception...and sadly the Church is not always about the Father's business. Winging it in homeschool? If people were truthful, we'd admit that we are winging it in life! Part of where we differ is our personalities. You say you are a introverted extrovert and I say I am an extroverted introvert. I ask the Lord ALL THE TIME to help me to talk to people, to start conversations and such. I am so quiet that I have been accused of being a snob. 🙁 So, I pray and ask God for the ability to converse with people. I don't care for small talk, but I think that in order to get to the meaty conversations with people, you have to scratch the surface topics off the list. It's good to be child like in your playing. There is nothing wrong with that. There was a dear sweet elderly lady that was a long -time family friend who has a very hard time getting around. She lived in an apartment building and one day in the winter, she went out and on her way back in she fell and couldn't get back up...so she made snow angels until someone came along to help her. It is all how you take what life gives you. Failure in "teaching" is only failure if you don't "learn" from it. I went through public schools (in America) and I didn't catch on with math until 10th grade. I was almost finished! I'm convinced that just because someone once said by such and such time children should know....doesn't mean that they will learn it by then AND just because children can say a little about it doesn't mean they know it. My husband could "learn it long enough to test for it" then he'd forget it. Never compare. Unless it's prices for shopping. I'm sure there's others, but you get my meaning.

I just love the realism you bring to the table for all of us. It makes me feel like that we are on the this journey together with you as a sort of veteran homeschooler ( veteran in that you have had time as homeschooled and as a homeschooler who is still learning new things). It helps so much to be reminded that it's not in perfection that we are able to move forward, but the ability to work through the imperfections. I have been homeschooling my daughter from preschool, but the feeling of pressure didn't come until first grade. We are also homschooling year round! I found that having dedicated vacation weeks during the year mess us up and end up working harder to get back into the swing of things. We have family visit every 3 months, the sick days, and mental breaks I feel are best for using aka vacation days. It also makes things less stressful for when and the length of time to focus on a subject. You are not alone! I actually say non-denominational, because I do not want to be associated under a doctrinal umbrella when, I also agree, my walk is a relationship with Christ not a religious mandate that obliges me to the chains of law to be right with Him. Thank you, for posting this video! I know that it was overdue in the making, but the encouragement through it is real! Hugs from State side!

I’m just curious if you’ve ever been to the south in the US? I live in northeast MS and it’s not the heat that gets us. It’s the humidity!!! If you’ve ever taken a hot shower then gotten out and gotten dressed completely wet and hot that’s what it’s like here. Some days you take at least 2 baths a day. But I’m NOT complaining! I HATE the cold and winter! I love to look at it but I have lupus and RA so it just makes me hurt. But I didn’t like winter before I got sick. I just hate being cold. If y’all ever want to experience it let me know! Lol.
