That would be a pretty goofy take. And before you point it out, yes I know that you are entitled to a lunch legally. That does not mean your pay magically changes if you're salaried. That number does not include the lunch break; which your employer has taken into account when creating salaries. Your lunch break is off-time, regardless of your hourly or salaried position. You may use that off-time as you wish. I can leave the site, and my employer can not stop me from doing so - because I am 'off the clock'. As an electrician, I can proudly say the chance of this ever happening in my line of work Thankfully, is an absolute zero. Thank God the tradesmen’s boss recognizes that this miserable little 1/2 hr break is MY time and not the company’s. They respect the idea that this is only time i have to meditate on holding it together, & keeping me sane while around other individuals.

Because it ought to be "where YOU hide" while "she" makes it sound like it's a thought he's been having, "I wonder where she's off hiding...?" He knows she has the right to do whatever, but it BUGS him to not see her. At which point it's like, sir..........

My favorite instance with this type of scenario is when there is a second boss that actually considers other people’s personal space. The conversation at some point involves “I don’t understand. I was just letting her know she can use our parking lot--NO! What if we needed her reports during her lunch break and it can’t wait?! Is this why nobody ever answers their phone?!”

I had a boss like that text me, "Where are you?" 10 minutes before my shift started, as I was parking next to the building. These creepy stalker bosses really exist. They treat you like chattel property and need to know where you are at all times, "just in case."

In the UK the regulations surrounding work hours and mandatory breaks. it states that the break MUST be uninterrupted and free of work duties. Can be found in Health ans Safety at work reg 1974, management of health, safety and welfare at work, and other shit.
