Good information. In terms of Canadian and American culture, *experience* counts more than education for getting a job. It's a part of the region's history as being colonized by "self-starting pioneers". Unless you have an advanced degree from a North American or Western European university, your degree will likely not be accepted in Canada - even a medical degree -- or a PhD. However, if you have *documented* technical skills and *experience* in fields like accounting, trades, engineering, IT, etc. etc. you have a better chance. But it will *still* be difficult to get ahead as an immigrant from a non-North American or non-European country. People will assume that your experience is not the same as "Canadian experience". For a country where people come from all over the world, it becomes very difficult for employers to judge whether a person who worked as a dental hygienist or received an MBA in Korea received the same level of training and experience as a person from Cameroon. So they discount all of the non-Canadian experience. It's the hard truth.

Great video, I also make videos on settlement but more than that, I get 7-10 messages everyday about how they have masters and this and that but they cant find a job in Canada. I always tell them, Canada is different. Here experience over education, unlike India or Pakistan where your degree defines your status, where your status defines your class in society, here it is opposite. I have managers who did not even have bachelors but working in field from 20 years and became managers, then I have people with Masters who are roaming because they dont have skills for an interview nor they can speak the way recruiters want them. Next thing I always here is that I am demotivating them which is upsetting because this is the truth. Anyone who is honest will tell you this.

Degrees are preferred in Africa, Europe and the United states. Canadians don't value education. You might be a MBA employee and you can work under someone with a College or high Certificate. Well, it depends! Some of the things you said such as Canadians don't value people with higher education compared to the U.S. or the U.K. is true. This is affecting the competitiveness of Canada in the international stage. The U.K. and the United states value higher education and open the doors for prople with masters and PHD compared to Canada. Canadians give preference to people with trade skills. What you said which is incorrect is that Canadian universities are filled with international students. You are wrong on that. Canadian universities are about 70 to 80 % filled with Canadian students and immigrants not international students. Please do your due diligence and stop misinforming the world. Also, Canadians immigrants are more educated than the general Canadian public. Moreover, one can get a job with Masters or PHD if they have connections. So you should have also stated that Canadian market is based on whom you know and not what one knows. Lastly, if one has a higher education and he or she is not getting a job they can start their own business. Entrepreneurs are what the world needs now. One shouldn't go to school expecting someone to hire them. People have to augment their profession.

Hmm! Canada is a great place to live compared to the U.S. and the U.K. For instance education here is standardized and a poor child can go to the best University in Canada if he or she has a higher grades. The government gives student loans for all students and does not discriminate in that. Also, the social safety net is second to none. The only problem we have in Canada is in the employment sector. another thing employers look at more and more is fit and soft skills. You can have a high level of education and still find yourself passed over if you seem too assertive or smarter than the management. Yep their insecurity plays a role. During the interview, appear affable and likeable. If you appear too ambitious, you may be passed over as they will think you will leave for greener pastures in 2-3 years. Assess the interviewers and their type of questions and adapt. If they are conversational, relax and project a friendly persona. The fact that you are in for the interview means they think you have the technical background.

What about if you wanted to get the chance to get a PGWP? And extra points attributed to your CRS for express entry? I was thinking of doing an 8 month course for this.
