Not quite luxury level, but there have been German makers such as Stowa, Dekla, Laco offering made to order watches. Stowa is complete it direct buy. You choose between manual wind or auto, logo or or not, Arabic or Roman, dial material and so on. They’ve offered that for quite sometime now. I’m not convinced a Tudor or Rolex is in a great position to allow their customers to micromanage their choices.

Some great choices there guys. some of these if not all could be on the list of someone who already has the first luxury watch. As a starter though I think the PRX PM80 is the stand out bargain. you could even include the chronograph version that uses the well proven Valjoux 7753 movement but it costs a grand more but still a fair way inside the 2K price. I have to agree with the inclusion of the 'Murph' as well. In 38mm guise it's going to fit more wrists than the bigger original but for those with thicker wrists that should be included as well. A classic watch design made to look old (as per the film) with a modern movement and manufacturing. Other suggestions that fit the bill would include more from Longines with the Sector dial and classic Tuxedo designs. They even have some moon phase models available at 'good' prices compared to some other brands. It's also good to see Oris getting a mention here, the brand has modern and classic divers, pointer date options and other classic styles that have the evergreen well proven Sellita based engines. In house designed cal 400 options for some Oris models could be considered as well although a fair bit more expensive are still pretty good considering the specs and warranty.

No thanks to that Tag Heuer. No watch at that price point should have an ETA movement. None of the watches at that high a price should have an ETA. Sorry, I’m not impressed by your list here except for the Tudor. Maybe try again. Oh … NO QUARTZ, no matter what.
