not trying to judge or be rude or anything, getting sponsors is important and wishing you always the best, but unfortunately better help has been getting pretty bad lately. (there's always been problems sorry) but lately especially they've been shown to be hiring people with no qualifications to be a therapist, to the point they're being sued as they're actively harmful/dangerous to some patients, especially minorities. I can break down a collection of the different problems but I just need to put out there that it's unfortunately not a safe therapy option

Commenting to boost, but also to add that since @Alayna herself is interested in a career involving psychology and therapy, this type of sponsorship should perhaps be carefully reconsidered and removed because she's associating her own youtube name and creative videos with them (better help) as sponsors, which can backfire for herself in the future
@UpbeatRhythm

dunno about their hiring practices but boosting this as ive been hearing a bunch of issues with them especially with major privacy concerns. i know that it's hard to get sponsors on lgbt+ content but it's to the point where i have to wonder about the vetting/credibility of other sponsors

To the person who was 27 and never been kissed, I had my first kiss when I was 39 (same age that I also had my gay awakening). Life goes how it goes, and we don't always have control over that. I understand the anxiety of getting into a relationship at that age and experiencing that for the first time. The right person will find that endearing and want to walk with you through that process. Don't kick yourself because you don't fall into society's norms. That's society's problem, not yours.

I'm turning 27 at the end of the month, and I've kissed people (mostly during sleepover games of truth or dare and spin the bottle), but I've never felt a spark when kissing someone, because it never really felt real. I've never dated anyone and I also feel really behind and often ashamed. I'm not very good at putting myself out there and I don't have a good relationship with my body and often feel doubt that anyone could be attracted to me. It's something I'm trying to work on in therapy. It is nice to hear that there are other people out there who lack experience at my age or older though. Like it's not too late to start dating once I repair my relationship with myself.

Anyone who's going to treat you badly for it means there's a good chance you're damned if you do, damned if you don't (often "its your responsibility to tell your partner" if you don't and outed by someone else/they find out, and "why are you making your whole life about this" if you do want to talk about it). I always advocate for being safe first too, but its going to have some level of risk to it. There are usually surprises in who IS supportive and who ISN'T, besides the "it gets better" improvement to personal mental health and not having to filter words and actions so carefully.

My boyfriend is 39 and I am his first relationship. I don't care that he is inexperienced - it's kind of fun to get that "new" feeling back through him vicariously. And fun to teach him what feels good to me and to laugh when things don't go smoothly. I understand feeling like you are 'behind' but it's really not a big deal. Like Alayna said, there are tons of people that would be THRILLED to be your first kiss and first other things.

The ✨lesbian dating experience ✨ hit hard at the end. My partner and I met on tinder, where she also said she wasn't looking for anything serious, and while our first date wasn't six weeks, it was still a solid 4 days together (would have been longer but we were already set up for long distance, as we lived two hours apart and I had to get to work the Monday morning). She also had this crazy dizzy spell that ended with her literally falling in my arms for me, so... and after that, I HAD to come back and make sure she was okay. So, every weekend after that, I'd finish work at 7 pm and make the drive so we could get as much time together. And maybe 6 weeks later she moved in with me 💁🏻♀️ Fast forward over a year later, we're engaged and still joke about our first date weekend; and now can barely go a work day without seeing each other💝

For the most part they pre-record even months in advance. I truly believe that at this point Alayna is aware of everything & won't keep supporting Better Help. There is no way in hell she's accepting money that's against her values & beliefs. I hope she's gonna post a video explaining all this at some point. 9:00 I had never put on someone's makeup or had someone do my makeup until I met my best friend and I kid you not, the first time she did my makeup is when I *knew* I was in love with her. My therapist had said it sounded like I was, I had thought about it, but that intimate experience, that's when I knew. And I would choose her doing my makeup over me every single time, even if I did secretly thing her makeup looks could be a little too much sometimes. The amount of time we spent sitting on her floor with her makeup kits or straddling the bench in my room in front of my makeup station, facing each other... Those times make me miss her so much 😢

To the person that is 27 and never been kissed, I didn’t have my first kiss until 26 years old. It was with a random girl in a bar (I was WASTED) and then a month later, I met my wife, and she was my second kiss. I have never kissed anyone else besides those two people. I completely resonate with that feeling of shame. But just like Alayna said, it is not shameful. Prior to kissing someone, it helped me to think of it as just any other characteristic about myself. My eyes are blue, I love painting, and I’ve never kissed someone. Eh, big deal! There are way more interesting things about myself than the fact I haven’t kissed someone! Try to not be afraid to put yourself out there, talk to people, tell someone you think they’re cute when you’re drunk in a bar (okay maybe that’s not the best advice but you get the idea). Sending you lots of love and just know you are worthy of all the kisses and love life has to give!

The thing about the intimacy of makeup applies to other things too. I had my first face-lasering treatment recently, and lying on your back with something covering your eyes while someone is very close to your face felt weird. I mean, laser-treatment is a lot less pleasant than someone applying makeup but there is still a weird intimacy to it. I'm actually glad for the eye covering, as I also never know where to look at a dentist appointment so I tend to close my eyes there as well.

I've only had sex with one person (a guy, when I was going thru a bad mental health patch in college, and which only made me more certain that I'm not attracted to men). And I don't think that's a bad thing. Yes, it sucks that I have never had a playable sexual experience despite really wanting to, but I no longer feel sad about it. I've just let it go. 10:00 that "ashamed" of coming out so "late" and never-kissed, suggests this person has been judged, and maybe gone into perfectionism a little, feels like they can't make a mistake or will be shouted at, or can't try new things and it not work out every time without being harshly judged or berated or abused for it; cos everyone starts off new at things, all through their life, and anyone who made her feel like she had to be at a certain level/was judging her for not progressing faster, is the a-hole. Maybe some trauma to deal with there... (if I picked up right).

To the girl at 13:34 that kept wishing her BF was her GF: This is totally normal. Sexuality isn't a narrow path and there could be all kinds of things involved with your thought process. Maybe it could be that you have an interest in sex with other women or attraction to other women, it could also just straight up be a fantasy you have. all of the above are ok. Like Alayna pointed out, some folks are somewhere on a romantic spectrum (who you feel romantic feelings for) and sexuality (who you want to have sex with). When we think of gay men or lesbians we assume that they are homoromantic/homosexual but this isn't true for everyone. I personally am Bisexual/homoromantic but I identify as a lesbian because I'm a woman that is both physically attracted to women and wants romantic companionship with women whereas with men, I'm only physically attracted to them but don't feel romantic connections to them. If you've ever heard of the Kinsey scale, apply that to romantic feelings separately from sexuality, you'll find that sometimes your places on both scales can be a bit different.
