I used this guide and made my own! could only get a 1" pipe with a 1 1/4" on top. Need to find something to secure the plates with but tape does it for now. Seems to do the trick! I can't get a mace here in Germany without serious expense, so thank you so much for this video.

Such a neat idea. Especially since every place that sells maces sells them at obscene prices. Also, couldn't help but notice this is the 2nd video where you mention being less than impressed by an Onnit product. I'll be making sure to avoid them.

The part that screws on the end of the mace is called a floor flange.

The homemade version is better than any of the manufactured ones. Plus it is loadable.

I honestly don't know if this is right but I have written this with the idea of trying to give people a decent shopping list of what to google or find at their hardware store. Starting from the tip of the handle that you grip to the plate loading side: 1.25" (32mm) galvanised steel cap 1.25" x 36" ( 32mm x up to 1000mm) pre cut threaded on both ends galvanised steel pipe 1.25" to 1.5" (32mm x 38mm) galvanised steel reducing socket ??? 1.5" x 7.87" (38mm x 200mm) pre cut threaded on both ends galvanised steel pipe 1.5" (38mm) galvanised steel floor flange ??? I am not sure about the thicker shaft as to whether it's 2", 1.75" or 1.5". I am guessing the 2" would be too snug for the olympic plates and I can't seem to find a 1/75" diameter galvanised steel pipe............. I am not a plumber, just an avid googler who will be making this soon hopefully for judo training. In the UK this costs about £32 from jtm plumbing

Sometimes folks prefer a 1" diameter, which may be preferable and cheaper. And yes, I do believe the fatter part is 1.5 inches.

Dude! I'm digging your videos! You're a huge inspiration and a reminder to have fun when doing any type of movement! Also, who is the punk band playing at the last bit of the video?
@Bodytribechip
9 жыл бұрын
Final Summation (the band at the end of the video). They're a Sacramento band that has been very generous in letting me use their music. Real good stuff. Find 'em online.

The one in the video demo seems longer than 48". Are you sure it is 36" total length?
@Bodytribechip

It's around 40". I had it cut at Home Depot to that length, since I like the challenge of a longer mace.
