We all know the feeling, the good old days are behind us, we can only think of reasons not to take photographs and when we finally do, they're all really bad. I'm here to fix you
Yoooo Westward Ho! at the start! Saw some kids getting in a fight with the bouncer at the Waterfront last time I walked along that street lol (opposite the colourful houses, out of shot), there was still daylight, in April.

I disagree with having people as a focal point in photo's, at least for me. I'm deliberately not adding those elements to come up with rural landscape and urban landscape photo's that make you think about using space rather than making a "nice" and dreamy image.

This is more the exception than anything but I totally understand where you’re coming from. This is where I’d say the theme or landscape is it’s own ‘element’ and I’d imagine those shots are shot with intention and probably depth (although I know some peoples style is a completely flat image, which is fine. So I guess it’s more of a question of intention, if you actively want a picture with much less going on then you’re creating interest from other aspects of it. Whereas if you’re taking those kind of pictures without much thought and you feel like there’s something missing then that’s when elements have value! You’ve got me rambling Tommy!

I like this video and your style - summed it up in 6 minutes. Plus it looks like you might have been in Lisbon walking down from the Bairro Alto? What a great place to shoot with intention.
