+D.Bond007 I've tried medium rare a few times and just didn't enjoy it for some reason even though everybody else in my family do. I always get it medium. You should never order well done at a restaurant anyway since they'll purposely give you the worst of the steaks since they assume you wouldn't know the difference.

I can't believe my parents raised me thinking fucking medium well was more tasty and "safe" than medium rare. They don't even know a juicy fucking steak. There is a steakhouse somewhere in my city, and I am going to it to have me a juicy medium rare for once in my life, goddammit.

***** I tip 20-30% minimum. I have seen people who mistreat servers and servers have told me their stories so I do my best to be nice and tip well. I wish restaurants would just pay these people a fair wage and add the tip as part of the bill so the servers are OK regardless of the outcome. I think it's wrong that servers are at the mercy of the patron , which in many cases do not leave a tip. If one cannot leave a good tip they should not eat out or go to a chipotle or a panera where you do not have to tip. Just my two cents.

***** That absolutely made my day. "cheating the restaurant" Is that not what the restaurant is doing by not paying a living wage?
@user-jm8uh9mc5k

I knew exactly what you meant. I find fault in the mentality that people want to "shame " the customer and not the business who pays them abysmal wages.
@user-jm8uh9mc5k
9 жыл бұрын
Of course you do. It isnt the fault of the server who's personal choices landed them a a servers job. It is not the fault of a industry standard that pays subservient wages. Its not the fault of a society that encourages companies to not pay living wages to its employees. Its not the companies fault when the owner is a millionaire but the employee makes 3 bucks an hour. No its is 100 absolutely the person who is already paying 5 times what the food costs fault. By very default the idea of tipping is broken. Why would someone order a glass of wine wich we will say is 12 dollars and be expected to tip 20 % and another person order a Pepsi wich we will say is 2 dollars and also be expected to tip 20 %. They weigh about the same so why the cost differential.This list goes on and on and on. If im in a nice resteraunt and my bill is 300 dollars does that mean that my server earned and worked harder then if my bill is 37 dollars at dennys?

The fault in your logic is not that you believe in tips. the fault is in that wait staff believe in punishing the customer for being able to afford more.

What school did you learn math at? 10% of 11.04 is 1.104, or if you round, $1.10. So $1.00 even is less than 10%. :)

For years while I was a waiter, I worked next to countless people who had graduate and masters degrees, and buried in student load debt. They could have gotten careers in their fields, but none that paid better than waiting tables. I myself have moved on. I have taken a pay cut to do construction work, which, despite the physical toll, i find more rewarding and easier. Servers do it in most cases because you can really EARN good money by working hard, and being good at what you do, despite the cheap asshole exceptions we keep talking about here. Its not fun. It's not easy. It IS a skilled trade, and you can make a good, honest living doing it. Higher Education has proven to not be an objectively better path.
@GetajobUAhole

+AllegusTV That was my point. It is the people that think being a server is a life long career that should afford the all the benefits and financial success of the educated. That thinking is hat I was pointing to. Those who use serving as a stepping stone are getting it right.
