remember to be realistic - you must do a bit of work whichever method you follow for learning Ukelele I've been studying how to play uke and discovered a great website at Arthurs Uke Blog (google it if you are interested) 👍
Teaching myself to play through KZitem. I’ve never played a musical instrument aside from the recorded in 4th grade, 20 years ago. I was kinda getting bummed but this video really gave me some confidence

New ukulele owners- Be aware your strings will probably go out of tune literally constantly at first. Nylon strings stretch and take a while to finish stretching. It takes a week or two for your uke to stay mostly in tune. Be patient and keep on tuning until it settles! :)

schools these days seem to care more about the sports and less about education or creativity itself. as a 14 year old freshman in high school who deeply cares about not only their education but their fine arts, its extremely stupid. the football team will get dozens of fireworks + stupid things to waste money on while the band will have instruments held together with duct tape, the theater will have no working light or sound systems and the choir room is half the size of a normal classroom.

Tuning -May I -I suggest discarding all visual tuning devices for the recognition by Listening- [How did music evolve over 3000 years?] This is a daily key opportunity for a beginner to start on a musical instrument And is a group going to wait for each person to pour over flickering digits?? Ever been to a symphony concert of an Amateur orch even ? All tune from Oboe A -each section Brass W Wind Percussion and Strings - Its quicker in the long run Aurally-in fact the bigger a group the easier to tune to your neigbour-If you cant hear then -develop your listening focus -I have 2 PGCEs in prof music teaching and BMus and ARCM - -Music is not a visual art of the Eye and numbers and colours but Rhythm and Pitch -Both use the ear-Only 3 intervals to learn 0; Uke is easiest to tune by ear-use the adjacent frets with a finger stop to match and tune Decide on G from a keyboard - Is A must G toC =the perfect 5th [ Soh Doh C to E = - the maj 3rd [Zed Cars or Erikay love lilt ] and E to A =the perfect 4th[On Olkley Moor ba `that Have you asked if any beginner in left handed [the active or writing hand usually]? Who play more easily the other way round with the necessary re stringing accordingly?

@TenThumbsProductions
2 жыл бұрын
It’s okay, we all go through that stage, can you play an A minor cleanly? That is half of your F, so try to transition Am to F and remember that you want your fingers to curl, you don’t want them to be extended or straight. Practice a little everyday will straighten it out naturally, for the time being don’t worry if a string is a little muted occasionally.

starting to learn on a new loanu concert uke. having trouble not muting adjacent strings when forming chords. I've filed my nails down and am trying to stay on my fingertips but it's almost like there's not enough space for my fingers between the strings - which I don't think are excessively fat. Yes, I am using (trying) the "claw" curved hand. Any suggestions?

I'm finding it really difficult to hold chords without touching other strings, i think it's because of my nails. Should I cut them short or is there something else might be doing wrong
@TenThumbsProductions
4 жыл бұрын
AntiPeoplePerson shorter nails would help, it might be the angle of your fingers as well, you want them to be arched and coming down towards the neck as opposed to laying your fingers flat, that will be easier with shorter nails. Longer nails benefit your strumming/picking hand more than your fretting hand.
@georgiaevans2123
