I grew up in Chicago, Il. My Grandpa was Leo Rose. He was NOT a wise guy in any way he was one of the very best Chicago Jazz musicians of his time ( he's play at the cotton club, Lotti's Pub and many more for years ) and all those Gangsters loved him. EVERYBODY loved my Grandpa.. I'm not gonna mention any last names here on this you tuber, but I was a paper boy to a "pool hall/cigar store" that the fella's use to play cards in.. I was the counter kid. I'd hang around during the games and run drinks, coffees, to the tables in the back room. I was learning guitar, so they'd always take an interest and have me play for them. My guitar was not in very good shape & one day I played an old Leo Sayer song " More than I can Say " and this guy moved close to me and listened, he started cryin.. he asked me what my name was. I told him and he looked at my cheap guitar and that man went downtown got me a Gibson hummingbird guitar. Very nice instrument and in no way cheap. My mother could have NEVER got me that. Those guys was the very BEST part of my childhood and I always felt safest when that corner outside that pool was full of all those big ol cars they drove.. I still have that guitar today. he paid $1,200 back then and it's worth over 2k today! I never had a problem with violent men. It's mean men that always bothered me. I did many years in Menard, Stateville, and Galesburg later on in life. I love this channel and listening to you reminds me of all those guys back in that North Chicago coffee shop and I feel 12 yrs. old again. Long Live " THE BULL" God Bless you and yours Sir!!
