Hi, I have 3 question please. 1) have you used this jack plate in saltwater? 2) how is it holding up? 3) anything you would have done definitely?

Hi, did the boat go any faster with the engine jacked higher?

Love the build, was just wondering how all was holding up and how heavy you figure your engine is. I would have researched that myself but I didn't see any horsepower on the motor that I can recall. Thanks and once again great build. Seriously thinking of doing the same.

Its a 9.9 hp. It it overkill for it. It should hold down a 25 hp the setup is still working like new

Awesome idea! What’s the speed on your actuator? I’m going to start ordering parts to build one, and want to see if I can find an actuator that will work but is a bit faster. Also, what thickness is that back plate of aluminum that the motor mounts to? I think you said it was 1/4”, but it looks thicker than that.

My actuator was the one the link. I used 1/4 inch plate

Hello friend, I'm from Brazil and I thought the project was really cool, how many Newtons did the linear actuator you used use?

Great build thanks for posting. Two questions: You said the actuator is rated IP67, but the one you linked to is IP54. Is it a different link to the actual one? Now that you have used it, do you have confidence in the rail/slider? It's hard to tell from the video how solid they are. Any fear of the rails bending? thanks!

The boat is store outside and get rained and is uncovered. its got about 5 trips since i've installed it. Still works good. The actuator doesn't look to be best built for sure. if it fails, just replace it. it doesn't cost too much and easy to replace, just two pins.

I’m in the process of adding a jack to my boat. I had a similar problem with the outboard’s clamps & used an old plastic cutting board to add spacers. I didn’t want to mess around with trying to waterproof wood.

yes, i have since added PVC block to that clamp too.
