@@jackiehsieh9410 Restaurants have a different standard, in which the min wage may not be the same as the state's minimum wage. This rule differs among states.

一般不須要給小費。rule of thumb, 如果有service服務的地方。像dine in restaurant給小費。to go's 或 Boba place no tips necessary. Before pandemics, tips are 15%, now they are asking for 20% tips. I still tip 15% at the restaurants, unless they earned it, i will tip 20%.
我是Oregonian沒銷售稅但州稅高+联邦稅+房屋稅+地稅+capital gains. 因為沒銷售稅所以所有服裝/鞋類大廠全在這.我家下個街口是Nike總部(Walker是Beaverton city government 特別送給Nike命名的一條路).我比較喜歡Columbia more than Nike.

很多人知道 TIPS, 但並不了解字面意義,TIPS -> To Insure Prompt Service ,也就是 “為確保有效率的服務”而延伸為一種 appreciation的文化。通常會隨著愈正式的餐廳小費會給的愈好。如果是華人開的”吃到飽”餐廳,我和外子都是以”人頭“記,兩人 $10(但我也有看到新移民和老黑留$2塊錢在桌上)星巴克等看情況2~5塊錢,是一種“奇蒙子”;如果服務人員態度不好,當然就”打鐵“啦~
